It has plastic body and plastic glass so realistically it might not be removable. Even the seats might be plastic, who knows. And it has 3-lug wheel hubs so no other wheels would fit anyway. But I agree that it desperately needs a remaster, it seriously lacks in content compared to all other cars, the only car with less content than it is the Bolide.

Is it just me, or is there a slightly awkward shut line on the front end of the LeGran? Like, the front bumper isn't lining up with the facia.

Based on the engines, badges, hub caps, available supercharger, gear ratios, interiors, think it is safe to say it's based on the 82-96 Oldsmobile Cutlass Ciera.

The front end is pretty similar to the 1985 Buick Somerset.

Game files suggest a lifted AWD variant at some point.

That would be interesting, but I don't think that is what the files are. I think there will be a wagon version with 4WD like the AMC Eagle, or AWD. A leaked screenshot confirmed this. I have found a very high resolution picture of this from the BeamNG subreddit, as the file on this website is low quality.

It would most likely bw 4WD, not AWD. The amc eagles had 4wd and fullframes iirc.

We "know" there will be an AWD/4x4 wagon, which suggests AMC Eagle inspiration. Those things did race in SCCA Pro Rally throughout the 1980's, so a rally car is not off the table. Of course the wagon bodystyle and transverse engine are still quirky for a pro rally car; we just have to wait for confirmed info as to what that thing actually is.

There were 4WD variants of GM's A-body (FWD), but as far as I know, that was the Pontiac 6000 STE and... that's it. They could have made a 4WD wagon fairly easily in theory

Yeah, but we already have top-trim / luxury models on the Legran. So i don't know how it would be any different.

It wouldn't really be different much, thats the fun part. It would probably end up being the same thing as a facelift in the end, maybe with a different base engine or suspension tune.
