So I have found a Youtube video that in the description without permission has an adfly( making money on my work ) link to a re-uploaded version of some of my sound mods located here (-BeamNG-Engine-Sound-Mods-)-10-CAR-SOUND-PACK-RELEASED-!!! I was wondering is there anything I can do about this or do I just have to deal with it? p.s. he is also doing the same thing with some of the vehicle mods on here. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MTAKdECcd6I
We need a system where we can host mods for friends only, and upon adding a friend it says "x reports of using stolen content, x reports of reuploading content"
No not yet I haven't, As i don't know what power I have like can I demand it be taken down or just ask.
I would ask, if he or she refuses, you should contact the website owner. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Ok, I'm just not sure if my work is protected by DMCA, I would hope so since he is kinda making money off of me!! lol - - - Updated - - - Btw here's the video https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MTAKdECcd6I Ive commented on it and hope everyone sees it as he is doing this to alot of mods on this site. also not sure who to contact mediafire and adfly or just one of them?
I hate copyright. This conversation always seems extremely childish. I always read complaints from content creators about people using their stuff as fairly puerile. At the same time I don't like people taking other people's shit without asking. I suppose that you need to understand something. You need to remember that if you're going to put something in the public domain then be prepared for it to go public.
Ill give him a week to decide what he is going to do, I don't think I could use DMCA on YouTube as I don't have a legal copywrite I could only get it removed from Adfly and maybe Mediafire using DMCA mediafire not so much as its not a claim that it's his work just a reupload but Adfly definitely.
Ok, well as i said I'm going to wait a few days as I don't feel like being a douche but how would i flag it on YouTube as i dont legally own a copywrite.
As far as I am aware Adfly was a no no on YouTube and you can report it as spam or scam not sure where you stand on the content ownership so best asking him to remove all links and flag them as spam.
well I don't want to flag all of them just mine as the other links are from other authors and I think spam would only work if it was a comment.
Just click the flag on the videos you have problems with and hit the flag select Spam or misleading in the drop down box select mass advertising then fill in the "Please provide additional details about" better you make it sound the more likely it will be taken down and make sure you note where the links are i.e description ignore the timestamp unless he has links in the video to.
How's this "Using a large amount of adfly links and is using these said links to make income off of many mod creator's including my self's work/modifications for the indie game BeamNG without the respected authors consent" ?
Dear MrNovosel0405, It has come to my attention that content present on your YouTube channel does NOT meet with the terms set out within the original upload thread. "Usage: You may edit my sounds but do not call them your own, Please show me credit if you use my mods in a video (DO NOT Re-UPLOAD unless I give permission)" As a content creator I would ask that you respect my usage agreement and take the appropriate action to correct your video description. Simply edit the download link to : http://www.beamng.com/threads/6334-(-BeamNG-Engine-Sound-Mods-)-10-CAR-SOUND-PACK-RELEASED-!!! And add : "Thanks to Nemesis from BeamNG forums for the Engine Sounds Mod" I hope that we can place this misunderstanding behind us and continue to support each others content in the future. Kind Regards Nemesis
All digital works are to be considered under the DMCA. In future though, I'd recommend choosing an actual recognised license rather than making one up yourself. For your purposes, CC-BY-NC-SA seems suitable. They would be legally required to provide credits. Could not license their derivitive works under any license other than this one (so would still have credits traceable back to you) and could not sell the work. They wouldnt have to seek your permission beforehand though. The alternative is CC-BY-NC-ND which may suit your purposes better, SA is generally considered preferable to ND but its upto you. http://creativecommons.org/choose/ useful tool for creative commons based licenses. There are plenty of other "stock" licenses out there, although I personally prefer hopping over creative commons options first
