    That's just because you're in a low gear (the torque gets multiplied). The actual engine output is only 423 hp.

    I had noticed that the hp doesn't display correctly in low gears, but that's the thing... I was in fifth? Is there a bug with the display/calculation?
    I tried using the 4 speed auto gearbox and it reads about the same in final gear with high revs - around 1000 hp

    -Edit-

    The RWD custom seems to read about the 423hp that you said it is, just the off road version that reads so much higher.

    I'm just speculating, but Gabe might've meant low gear as in, low gear ratio? Like, a high gear has a value of 0.83 or whatever, while a low gear could have a value of 3.45 for example, so the high gear has a lower gear ratio :p

    Also, they might have roughly the same values due to similar gear ratios(or they might be similar once multiplied with the differential ratio or something).

    That said, I think there's some weird thing going on with torque and hp multiplications in higher gears. This might just be me brainfarting here, but... If I go by my own logic, shouldn't one of them be lower in a higher gear(I think torque)? If both torque and hp are way higher when in higher gear, wouldn't that mean it's super easy to start from a standstill when in 5th gear? It isn't, so shouldn't one of them be displayed as being devided by the gear ratio, rather than multiplied(or the other way around, since gear ratios are lower values in a higher gear etc)? That sounds like it makes sense also when you consider low-range, since the car has to have much more wheel-torque to turn the wheels around when you're in a super reduced gear to ever get up that hill.

    If my logic is correct, it's only the display value that's wrong, while the game calculates it correctly for the actual physics, I suppose?

    Use the torque curve app to measure HP. The values output by the other debug seem to be wildly inaccurate.

    Ah, yes, that's better :) Not sure what's wrong with the other one, some vehicles it displays as having about 50% more horsepower than the curve, and others well over 100% more.

    After seeing that the other display is fine I would assume you are right about it just being the display value of the app.

    You are correct sir. The calculated display numbers are wildly inaccurate.
    As you decrease a gear ratio you decrease the torque on the output axle but increase rotational speed and if you increase the ratio its the reverse. And since hp is a calculated number from Torque*RPM/Constant(~7124 for nm) the hp should in a perfect system always be the same as the engine outputs (but of course there's losses in the transmission). Only torque is changed from changin gear ratios.
    And the only thing that matters for the acceleration or speed of a vehicle is hp, torque is nothing whitout rotation and that is what makes power. A low gear ratio in a crawler massivly increases torque so you can have all the Power of the Engine at slow rotational speed. If you were to compare an engine at peak torque and peak power it will always do more work att peak power!

    Brake Horse Power is the power before any has been lost through the drivetrain and transmission, Horse Power normally refers to power measured at the wheels, after some power has been lost.

    Just tried these shifting values for the 4 speed auto, far happier with the performance now.
    Code:
    		"lowShiftDownRPM":2000,
    		"lowShiftUpRPM":2700,
    		"highShiftDownRPM":2900,
    		"highShiftUpRPM":4900,

    One thing I have noticed. The D15 has a 4900 highShiftUp, the GM has 4800, otherwise they are the same shift points

    Are you going to learn to spell? You're going to get banned if you keep spelling like that.

    Patience, young grasshopper. The n00bz will get the banhammer, when the all mighty admins deem it to be the correct time.

    An admin never bans too early, nor does he ban too late. He bans exactly when he means to.

    Haha while I do think he should be banned for trolling, I don't think bad spelling alone can be just cause for a ban ;)

    Guys, he's not a troll. He's just so stupid that it seems like he's a troll. Plus, he still doesn't have a badge-obvious pirate.
