BeamNG Virus

Just tried launching BeamNG showed up that the game cant run cause it had a file missing so i redownloaded the game (never had mods on it) and turns out the game came with a virus, i checked what it was and the game actually has a virus called Trojan:ZPevdo8 in its files, watch out guys and stay safe

 

dw its not virus, it just has a couple of code lines that are similar to what malware uses, for gpu access (dw beamng uses it for something else)

 

Ngl I don’t trust that tbh

 

Exact same thing, they either put a virus in the new update or a worker turned on them because I’m still not trusting it

 

Beamng is fine Jesus you only get viruses if u download crap of world of mods

2: This was adressed in the 0.22 discussion thread. They said beamng uses similar coding to some that are in virus, triggering the antivirus. the devs have also stated numerous time that it is a false alarm. why would the developers want to put a virus in a game that has such loving and caring community?

 

Windows Defender also picked up on something for me, not sure if it was that exact file, but it came up as a trojan. Once I let Windows Defender do its thing, it removed the file used to launch BeamNG. Not anything to worry about.

 

Maybe a worker turned on them or they given up on the game or are doing it for money, never know but I’d rather not risk a false alarm over my entire new pc

the surge of beamng users has brought in enough income for the devs to have a stable enough flow to update the game more and more.
i dont really know why but your attitude really rubs me the wrong way. if you dont like that it has a supposed "virus" you can refund the game and leave
if you paid more attention to the bug reporting blog you would realize that uninstalling and reinstalling the game fixed the issue for many people.
I know i came off as rude, but this is just kinda annoying me.

 

Verfiy files fales with Missing Downloaded Files. I wonder if the exe was pulled from steam or its a local steam error

 

Not sure how it works with Steam, as I use Humble Bundle, but I played the update last night with no issue. And also, you would have a "virus" because your antivirus falsely picked up on something. You don't have a virus from BeamNG.

nah its not rude dw, i reinstalled the game twice already and its the same thing over and over again and i cant refund the game cause ive had it for 5 years

 

What I don’t think you realise is that games files change when new stuff and updates are added so it’s most likely that one of the codes changed and windows thingy thinks it’s a virus
