Today for sale is a wonderful one-of-one 1989 Soliad Wendover 4400 SSE finished in Stealth Black with factory black/chrome rims. Ladies and gentlemen, if you've been waiting to buy a classic Soliad, this is the one with its pristine bodywork, flawless paint, working electronics, non-smoking interior and only 6,000 original miles.



Inspired by European and Japanese designs of the era such as the Ibishu Saga, the Soliad Wendover is one of the most beautiful cars ever made in America. The mild body kit, pop-down front headlights, twin rear light bars and wraparound lip spoiler complete the vehicle's clean, wedge-shaped appearance. The plastics have not become brittle or cracked as this car spent most of its life in the garage; its one previous owner was my grandfather who unfortunately passed this year.



Under the front-opening double-hinged hood is the legendary Bruckell 4400 Series I V8, spotless apart from some oxidation on the exhaust manifold. But this isn't any "ordinary" Wendover SSE as you will soon see...



All electronics are in fully working order, as is the ultra-rare AWD 5-speed manual powertrain right from the factory! Throughout the Wendover's entire production run, 9,000 vehicles were sold with manual transmissions. Most of these were the 3800 SSE with front-wheel drive; only 42 4400's got the manual and only 8 of those got Bruckell's all-wheel drive system. Out of those, only one was sold in this color/wheel combination - this one. Under hard acceleration the AWD sends power to the rear wheels, all but eliminating wheelspin. Meanwhile, torque steer is controlled and traction ensured by front and rear limited slip differentials. ONLY 8 V8-POWERED WENDOVERS WERE EVER ORDERED LIKE THIS, YOU WILL NOT SEE A BETTER VALUE GUARANTEED! DO NOT WAIT!
