I don't think there are any plans to make an oval track for West Coast, it would be a huge addition and the developers would pretty much need to rebuild the race track area and all surrounding areas from the ground up. And doing that, why not make an entire map overhaul, as the developers would already change so much of the map to be able to fit an intermediate oval track.

We need an ETK version of the original Mercedes-Benz 600 because I want to pretend to be an evil dictator in BeamNG it is one of the most important cars in real-world history

No. Group B cars where almost entirely their own cars.
The only reason any of them had any resemblance to a normal model was marketing, because while you did have to homologate cars for Group B was make 200 cars.
The only one of the famous Group B cars that was anything close to the road car was the early quattro and even then as it got later the engineers wanted to ditch that chassis and make a ground up one.

    ...and Peugeot, Renault, Metro, Opel...

And they wanted change chassis because of Group S where you only needed 10 or 50 cars rather than 200.

Peugeot was its own chassis. It was mid engine. It only sorta looked like a 208. (https://rallygroupbshrine.org/the-group-b-cars/rally-cars/peugeot-205-t16-e1e2/)
The Metro was fully tube frame so not production based at all.
The Renault wasn't even a Group B car, it was a Group 4 car that got thrown into Group B when they got rid of Group 4. The Opel was similar being a Evolution of a Group 4 Car and only ever semi-homologated.
Audi engineers wanted to go mid engine far before Group S, after the S1 they started to realize the limits of such a front heavy platform and the natural understeer it caused, they tried to fix it by adding loads of aero (s1 e2) but the engineers knew that a mid engine platform would be way better but where told no but Audi heads. (https://rallygroupbshrine.org/group...-b-proto-audi-sport-quattro-rs002-gr-s-proto/)

Besides none of this really matters for a Bolide Group B, Because the all the racing versions had roll cages anyway, and for some reason you guys seem to think that a full tube frame car is out of limits yet when you look at the D series Prerunner its just tubeframe with some fiberglass body panels and a Cab on it. Very similar to how Gen 4 stock cars where and Group B, as well as Trans Am and IMSA cars of the late 80s.
IMO I think that we already have 2 offroad super builds and gameplay would be better served with something like a 200BX IMSA GTO car because while a Gen 4 stock car would be cool its use case is pretty narrow.

Lancia had its own chassis too. Remember the Delta S4, with the mighty Twincharged 1.75!

100% agreed on this one! :)

I'm surprised no-one else has mentioned the "S2R" adaptive coilovers for the SBR.
they first appeared in 0.21, at the same time as the adaptive parts on the vivace and modern etks, (the 800's were removed in an 0.21 hotfix)
This is suggesting some sort of more extreme trim level, perhaps digging at the porsche inspiration with a GT3/GT2 RS style trim?I've always found it quite bizzare that the SBR's configs jump straight from oem trims to a full-on hillclimb spec, with no trackday, race, or even street tuned configs in-between.
    upload_2021-4-7_22-53-43.png
then again, considering nothing was added in 0.22, the other new content for the SBR might still be a long way off, and they just made all of the adaptive suspension parts all at once.

For time trials yes, not for racing against other hillclimb cars.

it is a racecar, but near every other car has intermediate trims, for less heavily compromised race cars. things like the sunburst track, the etkc and vivace 310 trackday, etc.

Hillclimb racing cars in Beam are meant for trials. The proper real life hillclimb superbuilds are more "similiar" to gt3 or gt4 builds and in game they could use the same parts.

But let's say there are many categories of hillclimb racing.

Proper hillclimb car is similar to anything and nothing (if we speaking about Pikes Peak). There are practically no rules so as long it have engine and wheels it is true hillclimb car.

The SBR feels due for another minor remaster. Maybe another facelift and/or some new model years? It doesn't need much, but it does feel underutilized in its current form. Maybe a config for a hybrid drivetrain testing platform used by Hirochi?

The entire trim level/facelift selection needs to be redone. Currently the factory offerings are just a mess, it just has 2013-2020 model years for everything. It probably is realistic to have a lengthy model year run without major visual changes, like the 370Z/R35, but the introduction of the eSBR kind of ruins that. We could see a 2020 ICE facelift to go with the eSBR introduction, or call all the eSBR trims concept/test beds since they are kinda crazy (especially the eSBR 800).

There's a ton of interesting possible configs too. There are so many crazy Porsche and R35 builds IRL that there's no shortage of places to draw inspiration.
Drag /top speed builds? Track cars? There's plenty of real and insane GTR's built for those
Police spec? There are community relations R35 PD cars out there, so it isn't that big of a stretch to give us an interceptor
Rally? There are modern Porsche rally cars, so why not an SBR?
Crazy factory trim levels? Take some inspiration from Nismo and give Hirochi their own counterpart to Gavril RS and Ibishu GTz
Custom cars? Again, there's a lot of crazy Porsche and R35 builds out there, Turbo Rabbit and Nomi could both get some more crazy kits for her (Yes I know she already has flares and hillclimb aero, but there are so many more possibilities)

If the cars under the tarps around the maps are teasing the next car, it seems to be something rear engine and a classic similar to the Citroën ds
