understandable, i know people tend to rant and rave over simple things so ill refrain from such suggestions. how about a billboard with "divorce your lover and we'll give you salvation, debt and maybe a lollipop if you behave"?

If you're seeing on the news tornadoes hit middle TN, yes it hit the outskirts and northern end of our town and surrounding areas (all around us). I am fine however, and went about my day as normal. Lost a few hours of work-time on the map though, but I will keep y'all posted as to when to expect the next update for Patreon supporters.
If it storms a lot tonight and then net is down (as we have satellite, bad idea I know), expect the nightly blog post on progress here to be done in the morning or around noon tomorrow.
2019: Hey lets get satellite internet, it costs 3x more than 3mbit DSL!
2020: Record rainfall this year, more rain than any year since 1957
2021: This satellite rubbish has GOT TO GO!
So yes, I am getting better internet the end of next month. Sick of this, I hate this satellite stuff. Don't ever get satellite unless it's Starlink (which is purportedly really good and very quick due to low-earth-orbit satellites to bounce data VS 5x further satellites as-normal)...

I can do up to around 23 vehicles or so, give or take one or two depending on which ones spawn in on Los Injurus on medium graphics with reflections, on 0.20, 0.21, and 0.22. This is with a 2070-S and a 3950x with 32gb of 3000mhz CL-15 (2x 16gb sticks) micron-chip memory.
If you can't procure some Samsung B-die memory, you can get Micron memory at ANY place that sells memory. You can overclock it to the moon just like B-die EXCEPT don't touch the 3rd timing number as Micron bins memory by the 3rd timing number, which by itself doesn't make a huge difference. B-die production stopped around August 2019, so don't expect to find it for long.
A Ryzen 3700x with the same memory on a stock cooler can do up to about 20 vehicles, with 15~16 vehicles being pretty reasonable to expect from it. This is with the same memory.
Cooler used here on the 3950x is a Noctua NH-D15-S (single fan model, slightly off-set).
    @Slugfest
I only bought the 2070 Super because I needed to replace my crash-tastic RX 480 8gb card (which works, the driver just didn't like this setup and crashed frequently, causing me to lose progress often). It cost a lot but CrashBoomPunk was kind enough to help out with the purchase a bit (I help him often though, so it's not only just him being a great guy). Check his channel out on Youtube and give him some thumbs ups, or a subscribe if you haven't yet done so.

Safe for work (SFW) link to Crash Boom Punk's channel. Give him some subs or likes if you like crash compilations done in BeamNG!

Hopefully I won't have to buy too much in the way of PC parts being that the PC part economy is absolute murder right now, but I think our email PC in the front room bit the dust today. It's 12~13+ years old, and from 2008~2009 sometime. It's so old I forget when I built it. It's an old Athlon II x2 2.9ghz 'Regor' core, with 4x 1gb mismatched sticks of DDR2 and a 120gb SSD that was put in when I upgraded it from Windows XP to Windows 8.1 back around 8 years ago. We don't upgrade things unless we need to around here. Anyone remember nvidia's DX10 offerings of the break-through brand-new 8000 series GPU's back in the end of 2006? Well it's got the lowest offering of that - a Geforce 8100/8150 video card. It can BARELY run even web games.
Time to dig in the parts bins tonight. Hooray for retail-purchased OS though that doesn't mind motherboard changes. That's the only way to go.
Edit: Just to clarify: No, I don't spend project funds I've accrued (if there's left-over cash anyways) on computer upgrades, unless my content-creation machine falls victim to the magic smoke escaping or goes to the big desk in the sky in an unpleasant unplanned manner, or unless I absolute positively NEED to update it. This machine is plenty good enough however so it only goes towards software & asset costs (and sometimes if I need to bribe the devs for features for this project, which benefits everyone in the end).
Yes, I was one of the people pushing like crazy for a 'walking mode', I kissed some serious developer butt begging for that feature.
    --that is all

I can add asphalt race tracks and plan to, to keep the appeal of Los Injurus both broad and the engagement of the player can be kept longer with it. Race tracks / asphalt drift courses are some of the more-requested features. You can be absolutely sure, that when they are added in, it will be enjoyable and engaging.

I have about one more full night of work. Expect the beta links to go out Sunday morning / mid-day USA time barring anything crazy. I still need to do the AI routing in this area, which is 'barely' half done. I then need to test it, and one on-ramp (right side 1st shot) needs to be built yet. I wanted to start uploading now, but one more night of work is worth doing so this gets some more polish. The grocery store (in the distance) won't be very far along / done when the beta goes out, so just ignore it for now. You can still drive this road (the surface route, or the highway) in either direction you choose, and it's plenty good and smooth (might not be perfect in unfinished spots, but shouldn't eat the car or anything major). I try NOT to close down routes between betas as it might be someone's favorite route or part of their favorite loop of driving around the map. I'm going for a bit of rural suburban sprawl type areas here, with larger home lots, occasional farms where it's flat enough, industry here or there, and lots of retail / food service etc near the highway interchanges. The water-ways I've created in this version won't have water in them when you get the beta (the ocean is still there, though, as is the large lake in the center of the map). That will come after the beta as it isn't integral to driving.

So, that chapter of text aside, I have roughly one full day of work yet. Beta links will go out Sunday. I promise you folks will enjoy the long sweeping curves of the highway though, much better than the old boring stuff that was carved out in 2016~2017!
3.7 miles of brand new interstate-grade highway... just checked the mileage and it's an awesome drive.
That doesn't include even slightly more than that mileage of side-roads I've worked in.
    --That is all for now.

The last on-ramp is in, and smoothed out etc. I have about 40~50% of the AI left to do yet in this new area (and test for an hour or two) and this will be uploaded. So before the day is through (USA time) tomorrow, you all should have links to the updated supporter beta.

With the exception of one or two sharper turns added in to catch unwitting drivers, you can go pretty fast down this stretch of highway. The turn at the far end of the shot where it meets a long bridge is much easier now, and isn't half as tight of a turn as it used to be. I can go about full speed with an old Pessima slightly tuned and you can just drift the corners beautiful.
Basically, what I am saying, is I made 3.7 new miles of freeway (removing 3.x miles of old stuff), with beautiful sweeping wide turns (very little is straight), featuring mostly 3-lane highway (except a small portion against a steep rock face where it almost double-deckers), and
IT IS 100% PERFECT FOR DRIFTING. I can drift it with a keyboard, so I am sure those of you with a wheel or analog joypad can do a better job than me but it's awesome drifting @ 100+ mph. It's not butter smooth, it's realistic highway smooth. It's plenty good enough to hold the road at over 100mph in an old Pessima, I am sure cars with more advanced sport suspensions will have even less issue. I think I got most of the big bumps taken down.
Just be careful, as all the directional placards (chevron signs on outside of turns) are NOT in yet and won't make the beta, except where I furnished some up on a surface road.
EDIT: At almost 2300 hours here and the map update is done. Will test for any killer bugs then upload. Expect links sometime tomorrow for those on the Patreon for the map / people who contributed etc.

I couldn't agree more! I don't know why I like it, but I'm someone who hates car payments, fixes my car myself, and likes cheap plentiful parts. So, an old car it is. Never was the type to want to drive the bank's car around any-who (for what it's worth, I have an 03 Corolla, it's paid for, in 'fair' shape but runs well enough and I don't crash it, had it 5~6 years, and it's needed nothing since the day I got it when I put a starter and battery in it). I like the way it handles, and AWS = really easy with keyboard to drive. It has a stiff enough suspension to find the bumps that don't need to be there when testing the map, and not so stiff that every little imperfection makes it bounce all over when I get some speed.
I attached my player car config. You have to put it in vehicles/pessima for it to work, just drop the two files in there. I don't even think you need the jpg but the game produced it. Config works in 0.22. A customized (quickly at that) primer-colored car. Time to arrive in Rustoleum style - but at-least it's not the Walmart paint. Surely someone could make it faster, but this works for testing well enough - fast enough off the line you're not waiting for ever - but enough top speed to get across the map in a reasonable amount of time (it can still take 10 minutes to get to some places if you stick to the roads).

Fixed most/all AI bugs I found / Uploading shortly. Expect links before or after church on Sunday (tomorrow). AI isn't 100% spot-on but it's close. It sometimes has issues on the shore roadway (not the highway) where it goes two to four lanes, but I have to ask the developers how they handle that stuff or look in WCA to get it perfect (IF possible...).

Links for supporters went out. In the next 48 hours I will send out contributor links. Really out-of-it today but glad I got the map finished (as real life will keep me busy for a few more days).

Great news (I don't believe I shared this). I live in an area where we can't even get reliable cable internet, it's 3mbit DSL or satellite only. Well a tree company / subcontractor knocked at our door and told us some limbs will be removed - I said why? He replied that they're running FIBER OPTIC cabling on the road past our house. So not just two-way cable internet - fiber connections will be available now! WOOHOO!!! This is part of a multi-million dollar grant to get modern high-speed internet (25mbit or better) to most rural homes, done by the governor of TN. Thanks Gov!
I told him I don't care if you dynamite and bulldoze every tree on the lot if we can get better reliable internet!
So yeah, soon I will be able to upload in minutes in-stead of all night. Maybe then I can upload more often or even try some multiplayer mods.
Will see what we can get!

Got more work done on the area of the map that was recently updated. Will be working here to flesh out the area, and it should get a spawn before the next beta so you can start near here.

You don't want to know how long it took just to get the 6 houses in... but it also took a while to make the two (enter-able) culverts that go under the roads for drainage, too. It'll also allow you to exit the beach, if you should fall down and still have a working vehicle, as the rock-faces don't always have contiguous sections of beach in-front of them before the water.
This will be another fancy development with some older homes here and there on the one older road (not fully in) that the newer development is built around, but mostly new stuff. Started to add another Arroyo (dry stream bed) which is what dumps out through one of the culverts I added. Some streams will have water in them, though not too much. No big rivers here, the ocean is plenty good enough and I needn't waste too much driving space on water features. Only enough water features will be added to keep it realistic, not too much more (though, the exception is the culverts, which can be fun to explore or at-least a way out of otherwise getting stuck).
--That is all for right now.
If it gets quiet for a few days no worries, real life has to be dealt with sooner or later - can't avoid it forever & my lawn is turning into a jungle quickly.

More work on the development. I will be filling in and detailing a lot in this update. I want to get some work done on making this forklift-compatible, but we'll see how far I get with everything else before I make any promises. It's on the list, though.

One road (further back) has some older (mostly ranch / single floor) homes, while a newer home development (HOA style) is in the center. Don't worry, I will find a way to get some signs in about Karens and HOA's and the misery that HOA's cause. Don't ever live in one.

So yes, entirely, there is map progress. I will be making this development for the next day or two, and it should be finished and fully detailed by the next supporter update / public update.
The next supporter update will likely go through to be the public update shortly after.
Oh, and buggy traffic with wrong-way drivers on the bottom road of the 1st shot (bottom right) is known, sorry about those to those in the supporter beta - it was a bit rushed at the last minute - but I wanted it to upload overnight as to not delay it another 12~24 hours.

Never-mind that residential development, this guy will also eventually make it into the map. Was going through endless rabbit-holes worth of files, some freebies, some stuff I made (a lot actually), and a bunch of purchased assets that I haven't had time to fix up & include yet.

IIRC I think Crash Hard has one or two in one of his maps (I think it's been released), but this is an entirely different file (well, he could have bought the same one, who knows?). I don't wish to use other folk's work unless they give express permission to do so. This way if BeamNG Drive goes down in flames, I can (with a lot of work) port all this stuff to another game minus BeamNG Drive assets or textures (which it doesn't use a heck of a lot of except the plants and a few concrete textures, and signs that don't eat you).

I was recently asked; what's the criteria for including a house or getting your own house put in the game?
Simple, take lots of pictures of it. Front, side, back, etc. Tell me a little about when it was built etc.
Just make sure it doesn't reveal address numbers and such, as I do not want to or need to know where you live, for privacy/decency sake. I am stuck at the computer most days so I might as well make good use of my brain or it will do me in, in short order.
