    Hello everyone!
I am considering purchasing BeamNG but I want to know if it'll run smoothly on my laptop before I do. I have a Dell XPS 17 (9700) with an RTX 2060 Max-Q, i7-10875H, and 32gb ram. Ideally, I'd love to be able to run it at 4k60 with as high of settings as possible (my display tops out at 60 fps anyway). 1440p60 ultra would be great too (I am pretty sure 4k60 ultra is asking too much). Any insight would be nice!
    Thanks,
    Isaac

4K 60 probably won’t happen, but you don’t know until you try. Even though your GPU isn’t super powerful, it really comes down to your cpu. The i7-10875H is about as powerful as an i5-9600k, plus a couple cores. It’ll do 4K60 until you spawn 8-10 cars and then it’ll most likely drop. Otherwise though, you’ll do great.

Thanks for the reply, that really helps. Also, I know this deviates somewhat from the original topic but what can you do in the game besides drive? Can you build crazy stunts ramps and obstacles and all that without buying additional parts of the game? I see people on YouTube making all kinds of crazy stuff but I've always wondered if you need like dev access or something...

Yep! You can do all of that with the games built in world editor. You aren’t just limited to cars either, boats, trucks, buses, planes, and trains are all supported in the game.

Thanks! I am looking at getting it at Humble ($5 cheaper than Steam), just wondering why it says "early access" and specifies that the game is still in development. Is there a complete version I can buy or has this game just always been in development?

it's just been in development for the past 7 years, the devs have consistently been adding more depth and features to the physics engine, and more maps and vehicles as time goes on.
their end goal is to have a story-based career mode, and some of the content in some recent updates (like the walking mode, and the dealership buildings in maps) suggests that's getting closer, but it may still be a couple of years from now.
