Some more with the porsche; interior is now modeled and roughly uv-mapped + ao-baked. Also remodeled the front and fixed a bunch of stuff on the rear too. (imported from here) (imported from here)
My train nerdiness forces me to point out that the design of that signal is very unrealistic. Functionally, it's effective, but they're really more like this:
Le Banpei Dem slidenodes tho Now to make it less floppy... Also, seeing as we're all doing GTA conversions now:
Suspension next. I'm tossing up between double A-arm and pushrod. I'm not sure if I can pull off a pushrod jbeam; the last one I tried was an arse and a half to set up. It doesn't even work, lmao. (imported from here) Sorry for the bad lighting :^)
What?! Stand back. I was doing the same thing since last week and I wanted it to be a sneaky project, argh. I got permission from both the LFSDevs and user "Tiago Lima" from AC forum that helped me with the porting. I'm around 60-70% done. All materials are being organized, renamed and duplicates being deleted. Mesh is being fixed in some parts. The track will have no barrier between the Track and the Dirt Track, so I will make it use that "prefabs" thing when the race-update thing is out. I'm currently working on the pits, the I just need to add all the missing objects. Was planning a night version too, since there are already some poles placed in the track. I will just continue working on it, too much work already spent on it, and seems you haven't asked yet to the Devs. If you don't want to end up with us doing the same project, choose something else.
Pushrod still needs wishbones or multilink to locate. The only difference is that it has a rod going up to the pushrod assembly instead of a coilover. The geometry is the same.
I had a standard double A-arm setup with a rigid structure running from the hub to a suspended prism which could rotate about the y-axis. The prism was connected to a handful of bounded and damped beams acting as coilovers. The ARB was connected directly to the hub. I dunno. It worked in theory but turned out to be bleh. Could be my beam values though.
I had pushrod suspension working on the Gavril MZ2 way back in RoR and I had no idea what I was doing, so it's definitely possible
Something I've been working on past two days, a scania r480 8x8. Had an urge to try to make a heavy offroad vehicle (imported from here) (imported from here) (imported from here) What the finished product should look like: (imported from here)
