Been a long time since I came to this forum. Hope everyone is doing okay. All I did for this time was just study for university exams/assignments. Now I'm doing the same, preparing an essay for philosophy :)

I almost bought a C4 looking pretty much the same as this one (just don't remember if it was convertible or not) since I always wanted to own one (as a European :) ). When I found out it wasn't for sale I bought the car standing next to it, a '88 full option 735i with a manual gearbox.
Did quite some foolish but fun stuff when I was younger :p

Anyway, very cool looking car !

i recently found out my grandfather i barely know owns an alfa romeo 124 spider.
i barely know him because he is on my mom's side and her parents are divorced, and for some time he suffered a disease (i cant remember what one tbh) where he had to stay in a nursing home (it may have been Alzheimer's) but he is better now and lives with my cousins. he was a hoarder but has some pretty cool stuff, like vintage and unusual bikes.

Tesla is also one of the least reliable American vehicle manufactures. It's quite possible that classic muscle cars outlast modern Teslas.

Also Tesla removed regen adjustment options on the latest models, reducing handling/driveability.
    1. Increased passenger motion sickness.
    2. Reduced traction on slippery surfaces.

Unlikely that it was Alzheimer's if he's doing a lot better. Neurodegenerative diseases tend to come with a pretty steady and predictable decline in health.

We lost a family member a few months back who had gotten into hoarding in her advanced years. Most of it was QVC/HSN junk that she'd gotten addicted to buying, but there were a few cool things here and there. A mid-century vacuum cleaner, some vintage Stetsons, and even some weird old masonic document that her father owned.

The 124 Spider is actually a FIAT:

Alfa Romeo also made a 2-seater roadster, known simply as the Spider:

Do you know which one is it?

    Hi everyone :)

Losing a (very) dear family member takes a hold on your life regardless of anything...
Luckily this family member passed away due old age and at least without too much of a hassle.
I will discuss nothing further about it here.

Anyway, that was the reason I have been off the forums for over a week since a long time, probably since my membership.

Still recovering from the impact and still very busy all the time but I'm slowly returning back :)

A lot has happened in the meantime, I finally bought myself the new six-string I've been wanting for a long time to compensate for my bad feelings.. For the connoiseurs : A Gibson Les Paul Studio, the perfect counter balance for my Stratocaster Highway One :p

I also even missed the release of the latest Gavril T-Series Expansion Pack, bearing my own On Board Computer and Fuel System development. I've just tested the new release and it's looking awesome, the team has done a splendid job ! You can check it out here and DON'T forget to install the GTG Commons Pack as well of course ;)

I feel sorry for you. I've been in this situation too when my mum died in February. My condolences.

Apologies for your loss, that must be tough. I'm at the point on my life when a generation in my family is starting to pass away, which has not been fun in the slightest. I won't assume that you are christian, but the concept of a reunion of sorts in time is very comforting to me. The pain will ease in time, but if you feel up to the task, maybe try to learn from what you loved so much about the family member and try to incorporate it into yourself. For example, if you appreciated their generosity, try to be generous yourself, etc. I realize advice from internet strangers® probably isn't what you need right now, but oh well.

On a lighter note, congrats on your Studio! I play a late 90s Junior Special, and I love it to death. You can never quite beat the midrange kick.... welcome to the club!

    Thanks Fitz :)

Oh wow ! That is awesome ! You know, I'm aware of you're old guitar thread for quite some time, I just never got to respond to it the way I'd want to :p ( I'll post some pics of my guitars soon and maybe a tune too ).

Getting the LP has been on my bucket list for so long.. Last Saturday I was going to town for a suit and I came back with the Studio instead :D I just had the intention to relax a bit and ask for an LP in the store to take it to their cabin and riff it for a while. The seller took the Studio and set it up to my desires on a Fender amp with a bit of overdrive and slight delay. It played so fine and it looked so good ( it's the wine red version ) that I couldn't resist anymore, it was meant to be, a new friend :)

I'm so glad that you found the right guitar for you! I remember reading that Joe Walsh (of the Eagles) said that the best sounding guitar setup is a Les Paul through an overdriven Fender amp..... I'm glad that you got to hear it through that setup! I'm looking at buying or building a tube amplifier to really take advantage of my guitar's sound.... what amp do you use, typically?

    Happy playing!
