I have a question; how do you extract this OSM data and how do you import it in Beam? I always wanted (to make) a full-size version of an Italian island called Sardinia (Sardegna). Thanks! :).

To get the core buildings, terrain and road vectors, I use Blender with the Blender-OSM Plugin from here (Premium version) - https://gumroad.com/l/blosm
Blender-OSM only outputs simple flat shaded roads so to get the 3D Roads with curbs and textures, I use the Free Roads component which is contained in the Scene City plugin for Blender from here: https://www.cgchan.com/

It's then a case of following the "usual" procedures of getting 3D Data from Blender into BeamNG. Just bare in mind that depending on the amount of OSM data you import, it will chew through your RAM extremely fast. Working on New York right now, I've had Blender chew through all 20gigs of my RAM on several occasions so careful RAM management and saving often is an absolute must. (turning off scenery you're not working on in Blender amongst quitting un-needed programs on your computer. :p

I havent actually gotten to use this map yet but it looks super good for an experiment. Could you possibly consider doing Toronto in the future? (edit) I ask for Toronto because its a little bit like a mixture of San fran and new york but smaller so it would be better for this kind of software if I recall correctly.

One small question (I hope I am not bothering you), I have the OSM data/map location in Blender, how do I export it to Beam?

There, he said how to do it. I don't know how to export the finished product to Beam yet though....

My apologies, seems I didn't scroll far up enough. Hopefully soon he'll reply on how to export it to beamNG. That'll be the fun part.

That tutorial should give you a basic understanding of the underlying fundamentals of exporting a mesh from Blender and then getting it into BeamNG. I'd urge you to look at other tutorials as well that are no doubt dotted around here and on YT.

Maybe do Toronto, Ontario, Canada, at some point? Or Vancouver, BC? Both are among the three largest cities in Canada, so it could take some time.
