Installation Issues

I couldn't download the update so I deleted Beamng.drive like the message said to do, so I went ahead and deleted it. I went and downloaded it again and it downloads the Beamng-0.3 setup file. I install and update the game and then I click finish with the launch now box checked and it doesn't launch and I can't find a file to launch the game. I am getting frustrated with this and I am sure I'm just doing one little thing wrong, but any help would be appreciated.

I looked at some other peoples problems in the forums that were similar to mine and I tried what some people suggested and I went and ran the Beamng.update.exe and it said "Fatal error updater is not able to update the software and then also says that this file is being used in another process. Any one know what to do about this?

 

Normally disabling your antivirus' real-time scanning works.

 

I will try to disable my anti virus. I'm still questioning whether the update is worth it or not, it seems like a lot of work for just a little bit of new content.

 

The pre-race update? Yeah it's definitely worth it!! And all you should need to disable is the real time scanning.

 

I took down my anti virus and it still says fatal error, I am sure I'm just doing something wrong. I'll try disabling the real time scanning thingy.

 

make sure that the anti virus that comes with windows is also turned off. because that could be interfearing with it, and what is your anti virus program called? I use AVG and MALWARE BYTES, both are good

 

I have the webroot anti virus system, I have no clue how to turn it off. I did some research and all of the posts and walkthroughs were using a different version than I was so that was of no help. I am getting extremely frustrated and would like to figure this out as soon as possible. I also have no clue how to turn off the windows 8 anti virus.

I deleted all of the anti virus software I had and I also disabled the windows anti virus software and it's still giving me that fatal error message. I am getting EXTREMELY frustrated and I think I might just give up on this unless there is some practical way to solve this.

 

I figured this whole new updater thing out and I have installed the new version of Beamng and it is running smoothly. I spent a lot of time being frustrated over not being able to download this and now I realize how stupidly simple it was to disable everything.
