I am using someone elses mod that i love so much but it didnt come with welded diffs or LSD which was quite a bummer. So i decided to add 3 bluebuck engines which for some reason spawns in the frunk instead of the hood in the back.
I also want to learn how to add a Limited slip differential and Welded differentials so i can drift it.

    what i want to do.
I want to add new differentials which are welded diff and lsd
I want to change where the engine is located.
and maybe if its possible add new suspension?

also the v8 engines are super heavy which causes the front of the car to be extremely lowered and that makes it drive horribly which is why i want to relocate the engine and add new suspension that can handle that big engines weight.

Note:I am modifying the Škoda 742 mod and this is my first time modding in beamng drive.

So far ive added 3 new engines and they came with many transmissions to select which is great

    Engine in the wrong location

Where it should be in the back

The engine being to heavy which causes the car to handle like garbage.

Sorry for the weird pictures i kind of messed up but that shouldnt really be a problem.

2 links to 2 different videos showcasing the things mensioned before in the text up there.

For moving the engine, it’s quite simple. Firstly, open the engine jbeam and go to the “nodes” section. Secondly, next to the nodes, there are three number, one for the x axis, one for the y axis and one for the z axis. If you want to move the engine back, you want to change the second number (the y axis). You add to go backwards and take off to go forwards. You will then need to move the flexbody (or flexbodies). To do this, go to the flexbodies section and replace the ending(s) with ], [], {"pos":{"x":0, "y":0, "z":0}, "rot":{"x":0, "y":0, "z":0}, "scale":{"x":1, "y":1, "z":1}}], except make sure you replace the y number with the same amount you moved the nodes earlier.

Making the suspension stiffer is also simple. If your car has a suspension_f/r (whichever you want change) file, you can into that then go to the springs_f/r part. In that part, there should be a beams section. You can then increase the “beamspring” number to make the beams stiffer.

For the differentials, just go into the differential jbeam and go to the powertrain section where you should find a line which says “differential” under type. Look along this line until you find something that says “difftype” next to that you can have “locked” (welded), “open”, or, “lsd” (limited slip).

    Hope this helped! :)

Okay now im free to do this:)
I didnt really understand what you meant there with the position of the engine so ill just send you a picture and if youre down you can tell me what to change:) i want to move the engine back at the rear end of the car.

Oh and one more thing the differentials is located in the original engine.jbeam file and ive actually already tried changing the difftype but it didnt change. still was an open diff. Btw the rear diff is called open front differential for some reason when theres no front diffs at all in this car only rear:)

The game doesn't change the name of things, so a rear diff can called front diff, also a limited slip diff can called open diff, even a diff can called front left headlight, that's just a name, if you changed the difftype, you should change the name of that, too. The name of parts is in their "information" paragraph. You should change that

Yeah but when i did change the difftype to locked it still was an open diff. I literally grabbed the rear wheels and pushed the gas pedal and it it did the open diff thing where everything went to one wheel yk. unfortunately something important came up and i have to shut down my computer. thanks for the help anyway! Ill be back ofcourse for some more help:)

The flexbodies part? Just replace the ]], with ], [], {"pos":{"x":0, "y":0, "z":0}, "rot":{"x":0, "y":0, "z":0}, "scale":{"x":1, "y":1, "z":1}}], making sure you replaced the 0 next to the “y” to the same amount you moved the engine nodes :).
