They aren't, actually. Automation generates an entirely new soundconfig with every export. They generate this for example:
'5C0A949142C172614CF8B3A41CCD968B.sfxBlend2D.json' (which can be found in art/sound/blends)
which uses the sounds found in the art/sound/engine. The soundconfig in the engine jbeam does use them:

So, no. Every automation car - even if it IS a V10/V12/V16 uses automation-generated sounds, which were never in the game before.

 

sure the vehicles in automation re-export the sounds with the mixing and balancing used in automation, but the audio *samples*, which Camshaft software got from FMOD, were also purchased by beamng GMBH for beamng.drive.
even if you've never exported an automation car, if you change a conventional beamNG mod's soundconfig samplename to "v12_engine" or "v16_exhaust" or whatever, it will come up, and it will be the same basic sound samples.
ever noticed how the vivace's 5 cylinder sounds almost exactly like an I5 from automation?

If you didnt get the message this thread died a long time ago. this mod isnt getting finished its gone, never to be revived unless the author decides to do so.

 

Yeah I don't think he is ever coming back considering he was last seen November 2020. Auther went to get milk.
