OMG me to. Massive fan. gorgoroth Nargoroth. Mayhem. Burzum. DSBM like silencer abyssic hate. For me the 1990s Demos are the best. Torgeist is also awesome. Anyway OT. I also wonder with the new engine mode up dates ( they working on engines as for as i know ) more to the point powertrains. Looknig for ideas.. Abusing some Covets. And playing Good old Black metal. And Killing the New Wigen ( what ever its cold ) pretending am in the Home Land of Norway ( and Australia where i live ) will be awesome, I wonder IF/WHEN we will be a v8 200bx swap
I love Mgla, Furia, Agalloch, Drudkh and bands you said Sterbend is also good kinda like Silencer just more tamed There's a mod for V6 200BX (2JZ) good for time attack setups
Nice to see the tires are no longer black round Pirelli Spoiler: Black metal fuck black metal all my homies listen to trash metal, seriously tho even if they made good music they are all fucking neo nazis
On topic now: I'm not sure if this has been said before, but the Wigeon probably will share parts with the pigeon, so the pigeon may get a partial remaster like the grand marshal and h-series did.
If PBR really is coming to BeamNG, it won't be in the next update. They would have to redo every texture in every car and every map - is it even worth all that effort? There's just no way, sorry (unless they've been working on it for longer than we realize) Unless it's actually just RTX, in which case about half the player base is about to be left in the dust
It could be a render but I doubt that. With them remastering a lot of things, this would be a good time to add pbr.
https://blog.beamng.com/something-is-still-on-the-horizon/ Things they were working on back in 2016, as well as things they were planning for.
Just went for a spin in the 600cc Pigeon. If the Wigeon gets a comparable engine (no doubt it will), it will be a beast
Seeing how they have the texture cooker, I'm pretty sure they're almost completely done with getting the textures up-to-date with PBR requirements. It's not like they have begun working with that just now, they probably have been experimenting for a while now but only recently-ish it became good enough to show off
So here's my list of content that I think will be in the next update: Ibishu Wigeon - yes. The render looks to be in a highly complete state, more complete than even the first Wendover teaser. It would not surprise me if it were nearly finished as we speak. New gridmap - yes. The new tire announcement clearly shows a Gavril D-series trophy truck on the new gridmap, which seems to be coming along nicely. Pigeon remaster - probably. This was teased as an April Fools' joke but with the Wigeon announcement, I'm not sure they were joking! Drivetrain improvements - probably. They're working on something, my guess is they are improving automatic and DCT simulation (finally!). Optimizations and foundational code needed to implement PBR in a future update - probably. Assuming they are implementing PBR, the code might even be in the next update, just not in an enabled or usable state as will be explained later. The only reason I am even somewhat skeptical is because it could break every mod ever made, some of which are still commonly used despite being unsupported by their creators. Bolide remaster - maybe. This has been in the works for a long time, it's probably near completion unless they decided to scrap it and redo it from the ground up. Improved textures across the board - maybe. The new texture bake utility could help clean up some of the game's most egregious textures. RTX support - unlikely. PBR would break too much user content and require a gamewide art pass, but adding RTX could accomplish major graphical improvements without such downsides. However, only a small(?) portion of the player base would see any benefit, making this questionable as well. I am also told that the graphical improvements shown are more consistent with PBR than RTX, casting further doubt on this. T-series remaster - unlikely. It was teased (maybe?) along with what we think is PBR, which I do not believe will be operational in time for the next update even if some parts of it are complete. Complete, usable PBR - highly unlikely, sorry. We only got a tiny little hint at it so it's probably nowhere near ready for this update. As stated before, on top of the extensive rework of the rendering engine, this requires redoing every single texture in the game. Even if the code is complete and the dev build has a PBR-ready T-series, that does not mean the rest of the game's textures are ready. Plus it would break pretty much every mod. Tire wear or thermals - no. To the best of my knowledge, these are not planned and would make vehicles handle worse, not better.
It would be a shame if Beam never got tire wear or thermals. They're going way out of their way to simulate just about every other aspect of a car, including things like brake thermals that even fairly realistic games either don't bother with or don't make a big deal out of, so leaving out the tires themselves (something even *Forza Horizon* simulates) would leave a massive hole in what the game is capable of.
Question: How would weather work in pbr? Any different? I'm not much of a graphics nerd so, can anyone explain?
You forgot the new aerodynamics model spoiled by the automation devs in that youtube comment a few pages ago
I don't think it would change much - the rain and cloud reflections/refractions might improve, but nothing beyond that. As to how this works... I don't know much beyond "Grafix card luk at shayp and textur and reflekt light gud" --- Post updated --- The devs said there was none.
I doubt diamondback would lie when we knew so little - all we thought we knew was that there might be "some aero changes"...
Hmm, wouldn't PBR break every single mod ever made in the history of BeamNG? Maybe it really is just RTX?
