Performance should be quite close to what you have been used to actually, as your GPU is doing the same kind of work, in a different way. Actually these new materials can be faster, in certain material setups, than the classic ones. I wonder if with PBR automation cars will look nicer because right now they look kinda ugly in BeamNG compared to in Automation.
Are we one step closer to global illumination? These small, incremental but regular updates are really what keeps me coming back to this game. I'm optimistic for what this game will become eventually.
