Just remembered that you have made a T-Series fire truck. Please don't feel that I'm pointing any fingers towards you, but I'm talking about an official truck if it were to be made, or someone who has the time to create a detailed project like that.

Although this post is nearly a year old, I just now saw it for the first time and I feel obligated to respond.

First and foremost, the slippery slope argument isn't the best line of reasoning to base a position around, but I can understand how it's worrying (this same fallacy was one I fell into a lot myself over the years). I have two points I would like to raise.
    1. We already have the tanker trailer, which doesn't dump liquid when broken or anything, yet that was able to get in game no problem.
    2. This issue could be easily solved by simply locking the player out of pump gear. On many fire engines, at least in the states, the pump gets power from the same engine that powers the vehicle, and essentially you put the engine in neutral, and then shift into pump, and then the pump gets power instead of the drivetrain. While many people assume that fire engines can pump water while driving, this is in fact only an option on some specifically designed brush engines and airport fire engines (pump and roll). I highly doubt BeamNG would ever consider engines this specialized anyways.
However, I believe that a dedicated custom chassis fire engine like many would suggest (custom chassis means with a custom chassis and cab specifically designed for fire engines) as a vehicle would be a massive waste of development time, as it would be extremely niche and would only serve one purpose (being a fire engine). Instead, it would make far more sense to use vehicles that could also serve other purposes by building it on a commercial chassis.

One option is the Gavril D-Series, which could easily get a minipumper version. This is the easiest way to get at least some sort of fire engine into the game with the least required work.

But of course people won't just want a little quick response truck, they of course want more traditional fire engines. In this case, we have the option of what is essentially a swiss army knife of a vehicle, a medium duty truck. One common example of a truck of this type is the International 4900.

A truck like this could have a ton of variants. Some examples just off the top of my head are listed below.
    • Tanker*
    • Stake bed truck*
    • Bank/SWAT van*
    • School bus*
    • Bucket Truck*
    • Dump Truck
    • Box Truck
    • Fifth Wheel
    • Flatbed
    • Rollback flatbed
    • Cement mixer
    • Beverage truck*
    • Heavy duty tow truck (for larger vehicles)*
    • Garbage truck*
    • Snowplow*
    • Ambulance
    *not yet featured in BeamNG.drive

And of course, fire engines are also an option.

Basically what I'm trying to say is that a fire engine might not be the disastrous slippery slope that you make it out to be, and that there are ways to implement them into the game that would be efficient and also help fill many currently empty niches in the game, not just fire engines.

The point of my comment was to show that a current vehicle model is capable of supporting a fire engine design. I get your point but at this very moment of posting this comment, we do not have a cab over nor is there any indication that a cab over (excluding the wentward) is coming. If you were to look at my old comments them (don't worry they are years old so I don't expect you to look for them) they state that I want a Euro spec truck which are only cab overs.
But if you want a fire truck and that is somewhat common here is a prefect excuse to get a Russian spec vehicle

This last one is the newest truck by ural.

Now I'm not arguing against your points (outside of speed, that depends on location), I do fully agree but I'm trying to find the path of easiest creation rather than a brand new thing which can take years. A stop gap if you will. Besides Firwood (ECUSA) would defiantly have a conventional because it's a poor town.

Firwood literally issues Sunburst RS and Ibishu 200BXs as police cruisers, not to mention how clean it is and all the high end shops. Firwood is probably one of the wealthiest towns (per capita) in the game.

Forgive me I do forget that Firwood may look bad in downtown due to all the trash that litters the streets and it's a primarily a farming town since the only building that looked like a industrial building is a car dealership. I would like to point out that it's possible that the main reason why firwood has a Ibishu 200BX and a Sunburst RS is that they were surplus from another department that either a did not need them or B did not like them. Either that or they got a grant to get new vehicles due to the old vehicles that had.

    And PNS-100 zil 157
    And gaz 53 fire truck
And I nearly forgot to mention:

I just don't really see the point in Russian fire engines when we don't have any locations in game where they would make any sense.

No, I was just posting in reference to the fact that earlier I said that you rarely see any long nosed fire engines, but seeing this post reminded me that I was wrong, so I made a list of long nose fire engines to correct myself

Were not talking about mods which can be the fallowing: Abandoned, Forgotten, trashed, removed, copyrighted, outdated or just straight up bad. Were talking about BASE GAME firetrucks that wont be any of those things. As soon as a update comes out of any size it wont cause a hard crash, missing textures or anything else and will be maintained for as long as the game is going.
This is not to say anything bad about mod makers but peoples priorities change over time and most often lead to things being abandoned or forgotten. I just want something that will never be destroyed because someone has left and has discontinued support on something amazing.

Also a fire engine that is actually accurate in design too, unlike the aforementioned mods.

My company has provided driver training for emergency services in the US since 1976. For years we have used a collision reconstruction software to illustrate and animate training topics. A week ago I discovered BeamNG.drive and instantly realized the potential for creating quality training video. But my search for a North American fire apparatus highlights the challenge and time commitment required to create such a vehicle. Thank you Kemro for creating what you have. Globally nice is a great way to go. I encourage the BeamNG team to develop a cab over fire apparatus but in the meantime anything the community produces is greatly appreciated.

Oh wow, I was not ready for that xD
Well I'm happy if my stuff can be useful for you, especially for this kind of training. I know my stuff is not ultra realistic but I did my best, in a way. :D
If you want I made a Type 2 Ambulance too.

Dude, I want a firetruck as much as you do, but imagine how long it take. It would take blood, sweat, and tears to make that thing. That is something only beamng ddvelopers could make.
