If it was teased in 2016 and you've heard nothing since, there is a good chance it won't happen. At least not anytime soon. --- Post updated --- I'm talking about the fact that it spikes out like a bad mesh slap when crashed.
I did have one spike at the front bumper on release. Funny it was literally the first crash, but it didn't happen after that. Soliad had more problems for me when it came out. I'm more blown away how every car looks different and the surfaces quality is amazing (especially dirt). I'm literally going through all scenarios and off-roading is harder than ever before with oil pan damage
Unsure about that. Not all cars have been updated to PBR standards yet and that might be the higher priority right now.
In the PBR progress list, there is a list of cars which have had PBR applied to their engines. Only the LeGran and Wendover are "yes", most of the others have "no". The Bolide is "N/A". The Bolide obviously has an engine, so why would they put that unless they were planning to revamp the whole thing soon?
Im wondering if the level textures are getting the PBR treatment as well? would be really nice as they kinda stick out against the cars right now
Now that we have PBR and metallic paint, the next question is obvious: Will we be getting official support for pearlescent/color shift paint at some point? --- Post updated --- https://documentation.beamng.com/official_content/vehicles/023-pbr-materials-status/ Also, it just hit me that this change is being referred to as "Materials V1.5". Why not V2.0? That tells me that either A. they won't be finished with just vehicles, or B. upgrading to PBR isn't the end of this.
Actually, after checking out the metallic paint, I have some observations to report: -It does metallic roughly the way older games did; the more metallic a vehicle's paint is, the greater the "contrast". No flake is visible. (Obviously intended to replicate factory metallic paint colors rather than metal flake.) -Many black paints (even matte black!) use 100% metallic to appear darker. While the overall effect is quite striking, these "100% metallic" paints still appear more gloss than anything. So it also makes me wonder if we will ever see "big" flake (as frequently seen on hot rods, also as seen in Forza as, apparently, the only way to get a metallic finish anymore.) Maybe it could be possible for some modder to do this with skins, but that's beyond me. Wigeon shifter is in a weird place; animated MT shifters coming soon?
how did he know? OT: that bolide remaster's looking pretty fresh imo. Possible targa top, new air scoops, remodeled rear transaxle, the works. Also, have we seen a front shot of the remastered bolide? If we haven't, they must have changed something pretty important.
