My suggestion would be that you guys should give more advanced notice that you are going to stream. I'm a regular visitor to the site, but I didn't see the post in time. Also, I'm from the UK, and the stream was 5/6am my time, so another suggestion is try to find a time that covers more time zones, or do different times zones in different sessions. I would have loved to be there live and chat with you guys. Other than that, it was great to watch, and the music was appealing. I would maybe lower the music volume a tad though, so you can hear the game volume a bit clearer.
as far as the stream went it was great. pretty much the most communication between the devs and mostly followers so far. I still think you should mirror the streams on youtube.
It shows many bugs. http://www.twitch.tv/beamng/b/424200222 on 11:25 the car penetrates to the ground without any damage it isn't even happening in RoR ... lol
i think this thread was more about the stream itself and not about the game. They probably realise the game has glitches -.-
Remember, the game is still very early on in development. Bug fixes and improvements will go on for some time yet. I personally am very impressed at the look and feel of the game at this stage, I would have expected more glitches!
Hey guys i watched all of the videos there awesome, But could you possibly show a video of the Oculus Rift being used? that would be brilliant.
The stream was fantastic. I enjoyed it thoroughly and the quality wasn't bad. I would sometimes have a jump or a delay in the stream but I'm not sure if it's at fault of you or Twitch. I've seen feedback from other sites that say the quality of the stream was very low. This came from individuals who play online games, so their internet isn't below average. Advanced notice would be good as well as continuing the team effort of driving and talking. I liked the mix of free range playing and the taking requests parts. A lot of answers were given and some questions were raised, which is a good thing. You didn't show too much and you didn't show too little. Excellent job in my opinion. I'd suggest creating an overlay that states 'Alpha Build' that way individuals can see it, then if they are curious they can google it (or ask in chat if they're live). This would kind of give people a heads up that it isn't the final version and if they know anything about video game development they'd know to expect bugs. As far as the page goes, I suggest updating it some. Giving it a new offline image (Current one is pixelated), background and a profile icon. As well as giving it a few tabs for information like 'What is BeamNG?' 'Where can I get it?' 'What will be shown here?', etc. For being your first broadcast it was a great job. Music was okay to cover up the placeholder but I suggest looking into commentary over it. That way if Gabe has an extra window open and can see the chat he can verbally answer questions so it goes into the archive for later viewing/listening. Just my feedback.
I don't know i always thought this in rigs of rods, but there should be a point where if your car is damaged to say 90% and is mainly front damage you should not be able to drive IE the engine wont turn on... or if the rear is really damaged the power wont go to that point. Don't know how hard that would be but just an idea LOOKING PIFF otherwise though
That's not really a bug... the car goes so fast it clips through the ground and then he resets it and it's back. No different than RoR.
tell me when a real car has clipped completely through the ground and not left a trace? it crashed the game. It's a bug.
Sorry, I worded that wrong. I meant to say that it's no more of a bug than it is in RoR and it just happens because the ground isn't thick enough to stop the car at that speed.
This is already implemented & can be seen in the stream. Esp. the 3rd stream, where the Vanster (player) hit the Hatchback (AI) head-on at high speed & then the Hatchback was revving & you could hear the broken engine sound play, the player even waiting there a couple of seconds (probably to make this point). There are some other places where this is noticeable too. One thing I wanted to ask, to gabester, is how's the Semi coming? I just asked this here because in the drop-down menu in the stream, I saw 'semi' written, & was wondering if that referred to the Semi truck in the works.
I have made more progress on the semi (modeled most of the cab) but it's still a long way from being finished. Got a lot of other vehicles that need attention too. I'm almost done with the cargo box on the H45 (the extended wheelbase heavy duty version of the van)
