Re: General discussion chat I have a cat around my house, not sure where it came from, that won't stop meowing all night. That lil shit won't let me sleep.
Re: General discussion chat I really fucked up the gravel. I've realized its kinda hard to tell, but when I gunned it the right tire spun and I left about a 20 foot rut in the gravel. :|
Re: General discussion chat Im in france at the moment, so happy that roaming is free in quite a few countries on my carrier (three). Going home tomorrow, been here for 7 days now with no electric. Thankfully the game boy advance sp has legendary battery life, my 12000 mah battery that is powering my phone is nearly empty though. Still got some battery left in an hp jordana pocket PC meaning I can play some more solitair and do some coursework since it has Microsoft word, touch screen keyboards from the year 2000 are a bit of a pain though. Either way, france is a weird place Sent from my GT-I9100 using Tapatalk
Re: General discussion chat We used nearly the same components (imported from here) (imported from here)
Re: General discussion chat Not been near any cars you can use the 12v socket in? Twin USB in car chargers are under £10 in Tesco, a lot of those will work on anything between 7 and 30v just fine so could theoretically take power from other sources too but I haven't opened the Tesco one up yet to confirm if it will. I have seen people caniballise those adaptors for the voltage regulation hardware though, not the cheapest way to do it but it can be hard to order normal parts in some countries and you can't beat the convenience of just walking into Tesco and grabbing some bits Also in Tesco yesterday, 2200mAh portable usb power supplies for £10. Bit of weirdness with it though, when the device itself is connected for charging the voltage booster shuts down and the USB output voltage suddenly matches the battery voltage, very odd, won't do harm though as being a booster to 5v the battery voltage is of course lower, many USB devices will either function normally on the lower voltage or just shut off rather than exploding in a puff of magic smoke. Makes it less suitable for its intended role though. I was going to have the 5v regulator on my raspberry pi robot input to the portable charger and the output to pi and use it as a crude uninterruptible power supply. Sadly the Max battery voltage isn't enough for pi to boot.
Re: General discussion chat I also had border collie mixed with lab and pitbull, but she died of a seizure at age 2 and a half (we are not sure of my current puppy's mix so I am not going to post that)
Re: General discussion chat I'm going to have some money soon but only enough to upgrade 1 thing in my computer but I don't know what the bottleneck is can someone tell me what will improve my performance most when I upgrade it. Specs : I know my computer is s*** low settings 15-20 fps but on high I get 15-27 which I don't understand. I know my CPU isn't the bottleneck because when I pause the physics my the fps only rises by 1-3. Sorry I'm a computer noob.
Re: General discussion chat That CPU is the same one that HP uses in their horrid 310$ prebuilt, and that GPU is slower than a elephant. For 360$ you can get a brand new one that will pwn your current
Re: General discussion chat F**** sake I payed £570 pounds for my computer and you can get a $310 laptop that is better than it and that guy was my mums "friend" and that I was getting "more for my money" than normal What so he normally sells people a laptop spec desktop for £700 ? It took me a year of work (my mum makes me pay for everything so I don't have that much spare money to spend on what I want) for him to spend 30 mins ripping me off. May his s***** business shrivel up and die
Re: General discussion chat It is an HP desktop he was referring to not a laptop, and in the UK it costs more like £400 than just $310. But unless you have a huge hard disk and a ton of ram to make up for it, he overcharged for that machine.
Re: General discussion chat All those kind of people are money grabbers. Always do research or buy from family you trust.
Re: General discussion chat 1TB hard disk is entirely fair at that price, doesn't justify the rest of the machines cost. 4gb of RAM, that price, nah
Re: General discussion chat and this case : so yeah I'm a bit(a lot) peeved can't even play world of tanks on medium above 20 fps But at Christmas I'll basically be replacing everything bar my motherboard, hard drive and stick of ram. - - - Updated - - - Like alienwares are £100 overpriced but I would pay that for the warranty but my computer doesn't even have a warranty or anything like that. Building my self from here forwards. 'I've already fell to the bottom of a damn big hole it hurt but, atleast I cant fall any further' -Me I actually feel quite disgusted. He knew I knew nothing near the amount I do now, my parents hated computers and I had no friends helping or advising me so I would not know I was paying £100 too much. The £70 pound is excusable albeit a bit high as they built it for me and I just watched but as I said before the £100 was not as it doesn't have a warranty
Re: General discussion chat I used to work for a PC tech who was actually honest, he should've been your moms friend lol. He literally refuses to charge more than he does right now for labour (and it's cheap).
Re: General discussion chat YES! I ordered a GTX 770! It can take up to 60 days to deliver, so I hope I can survive until then.
