For some reason the old version ran like crap on my pc. Also it was on my tiny overpriced alien ware alpha R1 pc. I’ve downloaded the game now and It still even on my new much more powerful pc I built a year ago doesn’t run very good for me I average 22-38 fps depending on the map. Really simple empty maps I can hit 60 or higher though. If I stare at a wall I get 70 plus fps but if I turn and look at trees or mountains or anything it tanks to 33 fps. On beam I get rock solid 60FPS max settings on all maps except one mod map. I use v sinc on beam so it’s probably higher. Rigs of rods is terribly optimized. I am running everything at max on rigs of rods so I’m sure if I turned down or off some settings it would improve.
RoR is quite a good game. There are many mods that I like (eg: the 2014 F 250 Super Duty and the 1999 Peterbilt 379, Peterbilt 389, Volvo VHD, etc). That said, some of the vehicles lack working headlights (not a big deal considering that they are still drivable, which is great and really well modelled).
Damn, that's a throwback and a half. I remember trying to play it on a single-core Celeron laptop just after Thomas (tdev) took over development from Pricorde. Ran at a brisk 9fps.The only 2 versions that matter to me are 0.36 and 0.37. Those are what I grew up on and it's a hell of a nostalgia trip going back to them every now and again. I went into 0.38 kicking and screaming because they changed so much. So many forum arguments I had with the now DEVS of this game, haha. I remember a particularly heated one I had with gabester. So many great mods in their Repo as well. Gabe's Gavrils, Burnside Sedan, Chevy S-10, Honda Accord, '49 Ford; Box5's Kenworth trucks, Dodge Ram, and Camaros... so many good memories.
well,i first playing ROR when i in primary school , at that time i have my first computer, i don't know that ROR is the predecessor of beamng[that was 2015 too], i bought ROR and BNG almost same time, after that i changed my nowadays-computer,now i both playing two games now By the way,ROR has the same fictional company such as burnside or garvil
