The latemodel isn't quite a nascar-spec stock car, but since its the closest we have that's released I used it for comparison. --- Post updated --- I'd say theres a pretty good possibility, though it may be disabled by default. --- Post updated --- Yep!
Fixed an important issue! Before, the frame kinda acted like deformable rubber (I had spring and damp settings turned DOWN for stability instead of up! Well, by looking at another NASCAR mod (Moonhawk Street Stock!), I figured out a way to fix that issue. It now behaves better, and in pretty decent collisions the driver camera is no longer messed up and lurching forward and that stuff. Big step into learning more about JBeam! Oh also here are some more pics: (Oh and by the way, since the front end does not have an engine and there's no suspension yet, the front end can crush due to the big empty cavity! That'll be fixed I promise)
Love to see the progress updates! Interior looks quite nice One question: will the screen in the interior work?
Eventually! I'm tackling the bulk of it first before doing some of the smaller details and more customization (Drag Stock Car maybe?)
Glad my NASCAR Moonhawk Mod helped create yours in a way lol. Yeah I had to stiffen up the frame for that mod originally because it was just way to easy to crush and wasn't strong at all.
Yeah, and since this one is a fully-custom tube chassis (and all the jbeam for it is custom) it was tough to get right, since there's not really another car I could use for reference that is a full tube chassis, except for the D-Series Crawler (kinda) and the Latemodel Stock Car. It takes lots of time and tweaking and testing and all that good stuff to create a fully-custom jbeam.
I have a good amount of experience when it comes to chassis jbeams and deformation n' such. Lmk if you need any help on the chassis/deformation so this mod will be one to remember
Big progress update! Yesterday, after 9 hours of work, I have done lots: - Bulk of body re-jbeamed, in more realistic proportions - Fellow modder @powiephenom fixed some inaccuracies in my chassis model, big thanks to him! - Engine from the Bruckell Moonhawk heavily modified and implemented, sounding good. More on this soon! - Fixed alignment issue in the front end that had been bothering me since I first put it in the game. One thing to note, I don't have textures for the engine yet, but they'll be added soon enough! Pictures:
As the wise Phil Swift once said.... "NOW THAT'S A LOT OF DAMAGE!" all jokes aside, I noticed that the back looks a bit spiky when it crashed. will that be fixed in the future?
