Hello Everyone I am Looking for a good Graphics card for BeamNG. My Pc sucks right now, mostly because of the graphics card (there will be screenshots). In the Menu/help/performence Every Box is checked except the GPU. I do not have a gaming computer I have a upgraded Lenovo Thinkcentre M82 (I know it's really bad) but I am upgrading it so I need some advice. Also I would like it to be below 500$

    Computer: Lenovo ThinkCentre M82
OS: Windows 10 Pro 64 bit
    CPU: Intel Core i5 3470 Cpu @ 3.20 Ghz
GPU (Bad): Intel Hd graphics, 96 mb

I don’t think you can replace the GPU on a laptop

yet again you have to take in account bottle necking, etc... if your gonna end up getting a crazy ass graphics card you're probably gonna have to get other parts to compensate for that. But what were looking at is the case of you needing a recommended GPU for what specs you have, personally I could recommend a nvidia gtx 970 if you are on the budget side of things. or if you so desire, you could go with what @SmashBurgerJ said and get a 10 series card, which will get the job done, however they're might be a chance you'd have to replace your CPU, but idk, im not a tech expert or anything.
But if you plan on playing Beamng.drive and other games that are quite intensive I'd say just build a computer whenever you have time.

looking at my specs i can play easily with 4 - 6 cars with no framerate issue, 50 - 70fps, pretty much a 10 series card should get the job done, consider a CPU and maybe get some new ram sticks in the future.
    good luck!

I'd say just put a 1650 if you can find one for a good price(ie: $250 or less)
the card is practically made for this sort of thing, and runs beamng well.

    Just found a 1070 8gb 3 fan
Although like I said I don't have a beefy pc so..
    It might not fit
    ASUS GeForce GTX 1070 8GB GDDR5 Graphics Card (STRIX-GTX1070-O8G-GAMING)
It's 340 bucks used, but USED might not be that great..
It does have great reviews though...

Beamng utilizes the cpu much more than the gpu, i'd say a solid upgrade to a ryzen 5 5600x or ryzen 7 3700x would probably be more worthwhile.

With that said, any 10 series gpu will be good (i have a 1070 in my build and it's good for a solid ~120 fps, but again most of that fps comes from my ryzen 9 5950x, rather than the gpu.).

A used 1070 is not worth 340$, personally i would preorder a 3060 from a seller like OG10ktech, or try my luck at best buy and microcenter whenever they go back in stock, but those are often snatched up by bots quickly.

The 1070 is a five year old graphics card, over three generations behind. Save up your time and money and pre order a 30 series card, if you can.

if your gpu is really bad, upgrading the cpu won't change much. even though beam is more cpu, a decent gpu can still improve fps. and now they can also play more gpu heavy games too.
i say, upgrade the gpu, and then later the cpu. a ryzen 5 3600 is about 200€ so if you can find one that could be worthwhile, you would need a new motherboard as well then. i.e a b450.

oh absolutely, just with the silicone shortage right now it's better to get the cpu at msrp now and wait for gpu prices to come down and buy a gpu later.

If anyone wants to see, this is a 10850k at stock clocks and a 2080 super with 3600mhz 16gig ram. At 1440p at Ultra capped at 120fps (only as high as my tv can do) My CPU runs hot, need a better cooler. So I only spawned in 15 cars, 5 at a time. Run around for a minute. Saw my temps and stopped after 2-3 minutes.
I normally just play at 4k 60 capped, but can say that I can run far more traffic cars now than I could on my i7000k. Gpu isn't breaking a sweat really. The CPU is what handles all the cars mostly from what I can see.
I was holding out on a 3080, but got impatient and decided to get a CPU/MB. They are in stock. Was on EVGA waiting list since February with only an email saying they swapped the order for a LHR when one comes available. I read it may be 2023 before things are normal again.

I've been waiting out for a EVGA 3080 since January, waited so long I decided to get a 5950x in the meantime (upgrade from a 6700k), went from 4 cars at 40 fps to 16 at 120, makes multiplayer so much more enjoyable.

Thats one of those thread rippers if I am thinking right, 32 or 64 core. Those are some impressive cpu's.
Forgot to mention here about a week ago, Best Buy in Mcdonough Ga, 20 minutes south of me, had them but one had to get there in line very early and issued a ticket for one 30 card, I did not even bother going. Assuming people would be getting there a day before they even started and camping out.

Thats a nice card too, Only reason I did not get a Ryzen is I have never installed one, was all I could to to set this one up. Last computer I built was a pentium 4 2ghz :) AMD makes some really great stuff no doubt.
