There is a difference between designing a car that looks similar to one that exists and literally copying and pasting. Besides that though, the car drives very well.
i like it. not everyone has a trillion ours to spend on stuff. doesnt have to be dev quality for me to enjoy it. rigs or rods mods varied a ton when it comes to quality. i still enjoy the less detailed and not perfect mods though. this is still way better than most rigs of rods mods offered edit: off topic but i just found out apparently rigs of rods is still being updated cause apparently its open source. i had no idea. i thought it was long gone
Have you tried reaching out to MfD Discord server? Afaik lots of people there have good understanding on what you may have trouble with, I'm sure they can help you.
Aight, my go I have seen all the other issues and all the bugs and stuff, but my complaint is that the model is a quite high poly, it brings my fps in gridmap from 60-mid 40s my computer isn't the most powerful thing but it isn't a potato, even the vivace brings my fps down a little but not by this much but other than that its pretty good for a first mod imo
firstly yee I like this mod, quite a lot actually tho do have some criticisms (yes I know its still very wip) 1 the EV rs version probably should be faster and maybe a more base spec version of an EV to 2 exhaust clipping, your probably very aware of this but it's just one of the first things I noticed when I loaded up the car (exhaust will sometimes spawn in the bumper and when revved it will slowly creep up the bumper) 3 this I just a personal note I think the cars a bit too grippy but that could just be the way I drive 4 (not a critique but a suggestion) a different radio may be like from the sunburst because it looks a bit too aftermarket otherwise, I have no other complaints than to one that is really obvious like the jbeam that you stated before, SOLID 7.5 mod looks great here of some pic I took of it --- Post updated --- personally, I haven't seen any issues with the car might just be your pc if its hardware is a bit older my pc: amd ryzen 3200G , nvidia gtx 1050 (2g) , (ram) 2X8 (16) gb corsair vengeance at 2666mh
Thanks man, I am still going to do my best though don't worry. I was just trying to get all of those jerks with no experience off my back. I have looked at it. I haven't reached out to anyone on there though, I wasn't sure if I felt like doing it all right now. I'll ask someone though if there is an easier way than the way I know. Thanks though. 1. To everyone saying the EV RS is too slow, I am very aware of this and am trying to figure out a dual gear setup. What I can say though is that it is already DOUBLE the horsepower of the what the kei spec limits it to. So it is technically already illegal for the kei spec. It makes something around 110hp when kei spec is limited to 63hp. So, yeah I am trying to fix it but I am having trouble. 2. Yup, I know about this, I don't have any idea how to make beams not make the entire car shake even worse than it already does. When engine mounts are properly done, this will not be an issue. 3. I tried to make it grippy to counteract the "I lost traction, the car started fish tailing, and I crashed into the wall" kind of feel. Are you driving with stability control off though? Stability control makes the vehicle go in, and then brakes are applied and then it pulls it back out of the corner and then shoves it back in again and it keeps repeating, it is kind of odd but it makes it so you don't spin out. 4. Yeah, the interior isn't great but I hated all of the lights and stuff on the vivace interior. I can look into a bit of a interior redesign in the future and leave that base radio as an aftermarket option. But first I have to fix a lot of other things...
Beta Release 2 Changelog: Added door handles. Made hard edge on base front bumper to continue the line of the fender. Added tubs to the front of the car. Made hole in the base rear bumper for exhaust. Removed rear door slots. Added some structure to the unibody. Added underbody cover from vivace. Made quarterpanels flow better where it connects to the rear bumper. Most bumpers now align to the new quarterpanel flow. Finished smoothing out rear bumpers. Added 658cc diesel inline 4. Added diesel 6 speed manual. Added diesel turbos. Removed duplicate files. Changed slots and dissociated the prevost entirely from the piccolina. Removed old front suspension. Removed offroad suspension(unused). Fixed pedals being on the wrong side of the car. Added engine mounts. Removed a transmission mount causing the car to shake. Rigidified exhaust. Exhaust doesn't wobble anymore(right side of exhaust may still wobble a little bit). Exhaust may brake sometimes(unlikely though). Added more leg space in the interior. Now more people than hobbits can drive the car. Fixed missing auto shifters. Fixed missing turbo 3d model. Fixed missing turbo charge pipe. Added turbo airbox. Added intake pipe. Added NA airbox. Added NA intake pipe. Shortened gear ratio of the 6th speed on the sequential transmission on the rally config. Upped beam deform, beam strength, and beam spring of the driveshaft, and the front axles. They will no longer get destroyed. Added radiators to the left and right side vents. Fixed reflection on the inside of windows. Fixed issues caused by the update. Reflections in mirrors are better than they were, but not perfect. Made three seperate underbody covers for the front, middle, and rear of the car. The car can now be converted to having the bottom completely flat(not jbeamed). Added sport underbody covers also. Fixed part of center console missing. Added a backface to the front and rear bumpers. Started adding EV parts, including a 274 cubic foot frunk, an almost flat rear interior section and a lot of space. Finished all of said EV parts and added them in game. Electric motors will still shake unlike the gas and diesel engines(will hopefully be fixed in the next update). Added missing shifter to the electric variants. Fixed bright black color on the inside of the dashboard vents. Fixed an issue with the roof texture being incorrectly uv mapped. Known issues the update causes: Some body panels wont perfectly match on the interior and will cause a little seem in between them to the outside(will be fixed soon). No diesel configs(will be fixed soon). Let me know if you find any other issues. Beta Release 2:
That picture makes my eyes burn. But with people not getting the door handles and other things is a little bit… weird
Did you even read the changelog? I fixed the engine shaking aren't you happy? No, because "oh my god it doesn't crash right". But for real, I didn't say that I fixed the jbeam, stop obsessing over it! I'll get around to it eventually, if ever. Because clearly noone is enjoying the mod. Plus, I don't think jbeaming is worth the precious hours of my life when I want to start working on a car build in real life. The door handles are on the underside of the door if door handles are what determine if the mod is put together well. Just a friendly reminder that official beamng cars don't have fuel doors.
I never said I disliked the mod. I actually quite like it. And yes, I read the changelog. I just read it and expected to see things that I myself thought I would see, but didn’t see. I apologize.
