As there are some talk about modding pedals in linked thread (https://www.beamng.com/threads/has-anyone-tried-both-a-t-150-and-a-t-300-racing-wheel.79630/), I though we could have one combined thread where everyone could share mods they have done and maybe we manage to build a library of mods that could improve enjoyment everyone is getting from their hardware and favorite driving games.

Here is my mod for Thrustmaster T3PA pedals, if you are offended by tiny amount of dust on pedals, then try not to look into pictures, my pedals tend to collect lot of it and no matter how well I try to clean them, I just fail at it.

Anyway, T3PA pedals comes with rubber cone mod that allows you to get more pressure like feel to pedal instead of angle based feel.
For me there was a gap between cone and pedal even at greatest adjustment and it certainly annoyed me, so I made super simple mod to remove the gap completely.

I had some rubber mat lying around, you can buy these from certain hardware shops, stuff is used usually on top of counters or at van's cargo floor to prevent stuff from moving around:
    materials.jpg

Have rubber cone adjusted to closest to metal part like when you install it originally, then stuff pieces between metal part and pedal base, after that turn rubber cone enough many turns so that it sits firmly.
I don't use screw to hold metal bar on place, but sharp edge must be aligned to edge inside the pedal base, you might wish to use also a screw to make sure thing stays on place, but I kinda misplaced it years ago...

After stuffing rubber mat stripes there and turning rubber cone so everything is nice and firm, tighten the lock nut of the rubber cone, otherwise it will get loose and when you apply brake enough many times, everything falls apart.

There is certainly better ways to do this and especially more pretty ways, but I have played with this setup more than 2 years and I think that only once I had to reset it, despite everything is just stuffed there without screw holding metal part on place.

Difference in braking feel for me has been quite big, consistency has been much better compared to just rubber mod and compared to without mods at all, with just spring and angle based default brake setup, this is providing hugely improved control for brake.

In BeamNG, Civetta Bolide GTR is actually quite enjoyable with this mod, without mods I simply could not enjoy it as wheels kept locking instantly and there was no any kind of control to brake usage. With BeamNG this was quite large improvement, in Assetto Corsa this change has allowed me to enjoy more cars and especially some Porsche cars have become my favorites while before mod I could not touch them.

Next mod I wish to do for T3PA pedals is making them USB pedals using Arduino. I got inspired by this video, but still need to find decently priced Arduino from EU area to get mod done.

T3PA pedals calibrate themselves constantly in use, so with this rubber mat brake mod if I press brake pedal too hard, then I have to press brake pedal quite hard always until unplugging the wheel. With USB setup with Arduino I could have calibration done once and it then stays like that, which should be quite nice improvement.

Maybe that little is useful information for some, also if you have done some mods to your wheels and pedals, then post your tips so everyone can get little bit more enjoyment from their hardware! :)

You know, moving from a G29 to a T300 with T3PA-GT pedals, I still am slightly disappointed in the way Thrustmaster has done the "pressure-based" mod. The gap between no resistance & hitting the rubber dome is actually a tad annoying & I feel like Logitech has done their implementation noticably better, even if a majority of people hate it. If I could do it the same way that Logitech has done it or at least be able to find a 3rd party mod for the rubber dome, I would definitely switch it out; I guess the most realistic option is to get the T-LCM pedals :p

As for mods, personally I haven't really seen much available which is a bit odd, considering there is a few of them for Logitech pedals... Maybe I wasn't looking good enough. Would be cool if something like the spongy cylinder block thingy was available for T3PA's.

Is T3PA-GT pedals different from normal T3PA? I think with mod that I did or improvisation of it, you could get rid of the gap?

Also there is loadcell mod if you wish to go further https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:3043797

Checked it out just now. Doesn't seem like something I would want to do as it looks rather janky :p But I did manage to find a more-or-less progressive feeling mod for the brake pedal which maybe I could invest into in the future if I won't go for the T-LCM's beforehand.

As for my pedals, I don't know what's different in them as compared to the "stock" T3PA's other than the pedal faces being wider & made of steel.

There is T3PA and there is T3PA-PRO latter can be mounted in GT way pedals hanging, while first cannot, also latter is mostly metal and on first pedal faces are metal like in my pedals, but then actual structure of pedal is plastic.

Maybe yours are pro variant then as I did not find much when attempted to find T3PA-GT pedals?

LCM might be improvement, but also I think that for their price there is quite many pro simracer versions to choose from, so it is going to be lot of research then :)

I saw this last night for the clutch. I never thought about sticking a glue stick in the back of the clutch peddle. As you initially press the peddle the stick will be fighting the pressure before it gives and bends. Giving that feeling of the clutch engaging. I am pretty sure with all my glue sticks and junk I can rig something without having to get the car part he mentions.
