It's been 10 years... 10 years! since the game had released, and we're still in alpha. I know, there's no exact release date, but when will there be a full release? It doesn't have to be exact, Just which year? Or which decade? Or even which century? Not saying to pick up the pace, but which timeline will get a full release? Any speculations on the full release? I know that the developers are working hard, But this is the longest game to be in WIP ever.

Why would it matter to you if the game is marked as released instead of alpha

Why do you care. This is the most pointless question. Does it matter to you? If you think you're so smart, creating all these ideas and suggestions and asking all these pointless questions, why don't you just work for the BeamNG team.

A full release would be cool but it doesn’t really change anything

That is really a good an legitimate question....most people seems not to understand!

    I explain the differences:

Possible Situation (compared to other games):
IF there will be a FINAL Release could mean that MAPS and CARS are not change constantly, like they do now.
Updates will come but compatiblity should never break again.

    Pros:

    1. Maps will work always = no mesh and missing objects anymore, don't need to fix them always (cause some assets are linked to original maps and they changed a lot. 15 maps i have fixed for myself).

    2. Car Mods stay also compatible.... same here.

    3. People will make more free content, because of exactly point 1. and 2.

    Cons:

    1. The Hype of an unfinished product is gone. (only for the smallbrained People which are only interested in a product before release day/day 1 buyers... to get something others don't have).

But changing maps mean they become better, which is a lot more important than mod compability. It's up to people to keep their mods up-to-date, not the devs.

Updates: Which only a few people do! (some gave up)
How many old maps are broken or need to be completly redone?
How many good car mods and configurations are up to the latest version?

I know the answer and you know it too, or do you not?

To be precise: The Game has an Map Builder.... A Map is NO MOD! (from scratch)

BRAAAAAAAP STUTUTUTU: is this not the slogan for the Supra? Does this Car Mod still work?

Saying that a map is not a mod because there's a tool in game to make it easier must be really offensive to some map makers. Some of them literally spend a ton of money on map assets or take months to model said assets themselves, or both. It's like saying that Jbeam is not modding because there are debug tools in game.
Also the supra mod is bad.

Yeah, but again having better official maps and cars is more important to me than keeping old mods compatible.
And the supra still works. (The one in my signature is for a subaru engine, not sure if it's how it sounds though) Mods don't need to be updated at each game update to still work, most of the time they break because they are badly made.

It's completly the opposite! I would downgrade any maps if i would say it is a MOD!
If there is a Map Editor/Tool you can make a VANILLA MAP or your OWN CREATION like in other games. A Mod will say only that you make a track with not only existing assets or modifying Tracks already made from the dev (with the exact same tool)...some maps could be mods some don't.
    --- Post updated ---
No 0.18 (there was a mesh/texture change for the vegetation) had broken some maps (also buildings).

Don't say that somebody make a mod or map poorly!

If there will be finally a RELEASE....than this should no problem anymore.
I have more than 100 Maps (Thanks to the Community) played.

    ....which original maps?
The only Highlight i remember was Italy.

I'm confident in the community here to do the rest and maybe in a much more interesting way.

all maps are mods if they're not made by the developers themselves.

A CUSTOM MAP (from Scratch) built with an OFFICIAL Editor is not automatically a MODIFICATION.

Badly isn't the right word, but there are thing that aren't correctly made in these mods that lead to breaking.

    Things to avoid!
I think the community do a very good job, but are also stopped by the neverending and everchanging game.
There is nothing evil in that.
