I just booted up the game with the DeLorean and it looks great, but for some reason it looks glossy black instead of brushed steel like in the trailer and mod page. I've tried turning on dynamic reflections but it still looks strange. Any idea how i can make it look right? Do i need to use high settings or something?
have you tried clearing cache? if you haven't, just go into the launcher>support tools>clearcache wait for everything to finish and then check if it works
hmm I will try to replicate the issue and see if I can find a fix --- Post updated --- wait one more thing do you have any other mods installed? if so, disable all of them in game, re-enable the delorean only and try again to see if the issue still persists
Turn off Dynamic Reflections, see if that helps If you don't want to turn off Dynamic Reflections Go into car editor and change The "Panel materials" to "Painted"
Now that this has died down and we've hopefully all taken a deep breath, I have actually figured out the solution to the problem. I used paint.net to invert both the red and green channels in panels/dmc_n.normal.dds and the panel gap shading now displays correctly. I was sure to save it as a BC5 (Linear, Unsigned); this is apparently the same as the BC5/ATI2 format used by BeamNG and failing to do so may have been your source of trouble when you tried to fix it. There are some other normal maps with this issue but it is a fairly simple fix and it goes a long way towards making your mod look even better!
I wonder if you selected the painted version of it, since there are different versions like gold, the plain stainless steel version etc.
I hope so... --- Post updated --- I mean, if it doesn't time travel, i'll still be happy... --- Post updated --- Modeling is tedious work.
No, I just asked for the thread to be opened again. It has nothing to do with me releasing anything. This mod is finished and I will not work on it anymore.
