Can I share a fixed mod privately when the author didn't give me permission?

Hi!
I have fixed some mods and started a conversation with the mod author. But he said nothing in the conversation... the mod author is Dummiesman and he's active, but he said nothing in the conversation yet :/ I mean, it sounds he doesn't really want to say anything in the conversation
My question is can I start a new thread and say: {Hey! I fixed x, y and z mods. If you want them, DM me.} Is it allowed?

 

Rather or not it's frowned upon, I don't know.
But can you technically? Yes, it's not against any forum rules afaik.

 

I think he would be ok with it because dummiesman mainly focuses on his main projects at the time. And since i know what mods your talking about i think since it looks like everyone involved with the 2 or maybe 3 things has given up on the project it would be ok.
Overall i think you will be ok as long as you take it down if dummiesman requests you do so.

Dummiesman, I believe is not as active as he used to be so I want to ask how long have you asked him, and waited for a reply?

 

Dummiesman doesnt reply to any dms. I asked him how he did something a few months ago and no response. I dont know why he doesnt reply to them.

also speaking on behalf of salim im in the convo with him with the mods. He asked him about 18 ish days ago.

 

First, I asked about 2 weeks ago. And when I saw that he posted a new thread, I asked him again in that conversation. Some hours later, he replied some posts in his thread, but he didn't say anything in the conversation :/ So I know he doesn't really want to do it

That still doesn't mean it's OK to do it. For example, if someone gives you private beta testing of a mod it's not OK to share it with other people even in DMs unless the author says you can.

 

Before fixing someone's mod, I always contact the author of the mod and ask for permission. A year has passed, I have not received permission to fix " ETC K-Series Shooting Brake from @Firepower . "

Well, I'll post the thread and if it's not OK it'll be deleted. I'm sure doing it will not ban me, they will just delete the thread, so I'll post the thread.

 

So why did you make this thread asking if it's OK if you were going to do it anyway? And as I said, it's not OK to do it, it's just like sharing private mods without permission.
