    Hey there,
I am currently trying to get the Vulkan render to work with BeamNG via Proton, as I hope to get somewhat better performance out of it.
At the moment I am facing a crash that says "Failed to initialize Vulkan".
I am running an Arch based linux distro and made sure to install all the required vulkan packages, but I still had no luck yet.
Do I have to by any chance install the DXVK dlls via Winetricks, too? - Wasn't that bundled with Proton already? (The Proton-GE fork seems to support vulkan out of the box already, I am unsure with vanilla Proton though.)

Do you guys have any Ideas?

    Regards

I know this is an older post but same issue. Tried under wine and same result.

I had it work out of the gate on experimental and 6.x.x, just no detection of the GPU, only the intel onboard. Mint/Manjaro

I have no issues with Vulkan or DXVK on Arch.

You don't need to perform any tweaks to Proton, DXVK will be used by default. I've tried Proton GE & vanilla 6.x.x both work without an issue.

In my case (Nvidia GPU) I still get better performance with DXVK than with native Vulkan.

Have you made sure Vulkan is working ok on your system?

Update, I've just read the old Linux thread. I would not recommend replacing any DLLs or libraries. Making those changes are more likely to cause problems.

In reference to GPU drivers as you're on AMD I would recommend the mesa open source ones instead of AMD GPU Pro. It should give you better performance and is more widely used.

It's always the annoying NVIDIA GPUs that instandly work. I hate it.
