Not just the assumption, but from the devs telling us this. I remember this being on the website. Maybe I'm just looking in the wrong places, but I can't find it anymore.
Me neither. I vividly remember it too. I wouldn't be surprised if they chose to delete all mentions of this. :|
I don't remember anything suggesting all future content would be free, just a complete game. Raising the price of the game still makes it a one time purchase, there still isn't any source of sustainable income there. I for one would gladly throw my wallet at TDev if it means a long term sustainable stream of additional content.
would like some more transparency from the devs regarding this honestly. the cat is already out of the bag, no point trying to stuff it back in
i dont understand why people dont like dlc's, you aren't being forced to buy them and they usually are pretty cheap. afaik they can't make any more money off of people once you've bought the game, dlc is the only way for them to make some more money.
I'm not asking for the game to be cheaper, I'm asking for there to not be additional monetization on top of the price I paid for the game under the presumption that in exchange for giving money for an early access product all future content would be free, especially as I vividly remember the developers stating "No DLC" countless times.
I imagine it's largely because of how the big AAA studios treat DLC. So many of them use DLCs in a predatory way that there's a strong stigma with anything of the sort nowadays.
I might be wrong because I didn't watch the video, but if we do get DLC, then we should talk about pricing when it is announced. Not now, (likely) long away from any official announcement of such.
All I want right now is either the video made more public than it is, or a confirmation of what is and isn't going on for those people (me) who haven't seen it
Agreed. This is weird, the the devs are usually pretty transparent with us, and they’re protecting this like China protects what happened on June 5, 1989
