For some reason having this mod packed breaks it, so make sure to unpack it before using it or telling me about issues with the mod. - Adds 491 engines with 21 new engine sounds from NFS + 23 "new" engine sounds made using in game sounds. - A new sequential transmission for every vehicle that'll make your ears bleed (in a good way) Updates: - 6 new sounds Known issues/future plans: - The mod is still busted when it's packed. Make sure to unpack it. - I might around to adjusting the torque curves someday. Engine sounds in this pack: - Peugeot 206 / Mazda Miata (maz_miat) - Nissan 240SX / Toyota Corolla GTS (nis_240sx) - Nissan 350Z (nis_350z_a) - Ferrari 360 (fer_360, unused sound in NFS) - "Big Blue" (trck_log, semi / truck sound from NFSMW) - (Ford) "Bronco" (Generic SUV engine sound used in NFSU2, I'm not sure what it's called internally) - 2 Chevrolet Cobalt sounds (maz_prot_a, the stock sound and chv_cav_a, the first upgraded sound) - Chevrolet Corvette (corvette_z06) - Lotus Elise (lot_elise) - Ford Focus (for_foc_a) - Volkswagen Golf (vw_cab) - Ford GT (for_gt_b) - 2 Subaru Impreza WRX STI sounds (sub_wrx_a and sub_wrx_b) - BMW M3 GTR (tvr_cerb, the one we all love, intended to be paired with the new sequential) - Porsche 928 (por_928, unused sound in NFS) - Ford Mustang / Pontiac GTO / Civic Cruiser (for_mus_b) - (Dodge) "Ram" (hum_h1, Traffic pickup, police SUVs, and the traffic minivan for some goddamn reason) - Nissan Skyline GTR (nis_sky) - Mitsubishi Lancer Evo VIII (hon_s2k_e) New engines/sounds: - "Archer" I6/V6 (V8_flat_2_engine + I6_2_exhaust/V6_2_exhaust) - "Avenger" V8 (V8_flat_2_engine + V16_exhaust) - "Blue Star" I4 (I4_3_engine + I4D_exhaust) - "Chieftain" turbo-diesel V8 (I6_2_engine + V8_flat_2_exhaust) - "Churgler" turbo-diesel V8 (I6_2_engine + V8D_exhaust) - "Clearwater" V8 (V8_flat_engine + V8_cross_exhaust) - "Clermont" I6/V6 (B4_2_engine + V12_exhaust) - "Earthside" I4 (V8_flat_2_engine + I4_3_exhaust) - "Highbanks" V8 (I6D_semi_engine + V8D_exhaust) - "Horizon" I6/V6 (B4_2_engine + V6_2_exhaust) - "Hornet" V8 (V8_flat_2_engine + V8_cross_exhaust) - "Hyper-Duty" turbo-diesel V8 (I6D_semi_engine + V8D_exhaust) - "Lavira" I6/V6 (I5_engine + I6_2_exhaust) - "Lawrence" I4 (I4_3_engine + I4_2_exhaust) - "Longhorn" V8 (I6_2_engine + V8_cross_exhaust) - "Mountaineer" I6/V6 (I6_2_engine + I3_2_exhaust) - "Pasona" I6/V6 (I6_2_engine + B6_exhaust) - "Pasuga" I6/V6 (V6_2_engine + I6_2_exhaust) - "Ponderosa" V8 (V8_cross_engine + V8D_exhaust) - "Rambler" I4 (I4_2_engine + V8_flat_2_exhaust) - "Seminole" I6/V6 (I6_2_engine/V6_engine + V16_exhaust) - "Sunshine" V8 (V8_flat_2_engine + V8_flat_exhaust) - "Super-J" I6/V6 (B4_2_engine + I6D_2_exhaust) New transmissions: - 6-speed sequential transmissions with straight cut gears. One fucking HUNDRED!? And listen to those strait cut gears SING! WEEEEEEEEEE "I'm spinnin!" WEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEe "I'm still spinnin!"
How do you get the sounds to work? I put them in the mod folder and disabled other sound mods but still nothing
They don't replace any engines or sounds. They're new engines that you can install in the parts selector for every vehicle listed above.
Go into the mod manager in game and unpack it. That should make it work, I hope. --- Post updated --- Wow, I just had a fucking Jimmy Neutron brain blast. I know exactly why it's not working. Instead of packing the mod before posting it I just compressed it normally. Sorry about that guys.
It works now. I didn't pack the mod correctly. Sorry about that. --- Post updated --- It works now. I didn't pack the mod correctly. Sorry about that. --- Post updated --- Redownload the mod. I fixed it.
It does work now however, the engine all show oil starvation at any amount of hard acceleration modded or stock. The engines are also extremely weak i.e. any amount of boost instantly gives an over torque reading and then explodes. That sequential is the mf bees knees tho. Mainly the only reason i wanted this mod. Any chance of a future update to fix this?
When i downloaded this mod i noticed it had an extra subfolder. Which seemed to make the engines not show up ingame. But i just dragged it to unpacked and it worked fine. Some of the sounds are better than others.. The gearbox whine is good but it very low speeds it can be very weird and extreme. I started modifying some of the engine curves strait away tho.. the 350Z ones for example sounded quite good but seemed to be setup to revv to 8-9k which is a bit high for a V6.. Making it get away from where the 350Z would sound good.. The ferrari 360 one is also pretty good. We don't see flatplane crank V8's very often.
I think that sub folder might have been from me accidentally zipping the mod instead of packing it and the redline issue with 350Z should be fixed now that I updated the ECUs. --- Post updated --- Nevermind. I guess I didn't fix this subfolder issue. I'm having trouble finding this subfolder you're talking about. And sorry for all the issues with the mod, I have very little modding experience.
The first folder inside the zip should be 'vehicles' but when i downloaded it previously there was another folder called 'vroompack' before vehicles. which seems to cause it to not load properly. As for the RPM range of the engines just decreasing the limiter doesn't result in a realistic engine curve. The peak power should be before redline and then it should drop off. Then you use the 'Stage X Performance Long Block' to increase the revv range. Like what is normally done with cams.
All of the torque curves were originally based off of the actual curves of the vehicles, but the performance was really bad so I increased all of them before I released the mod. I'll definitely change all the torque curves because the drop off in power before redline is really noticeable. Thank you for your help.
