Community needs to get its shit together (Reviews etc)

Was disappointed to see the reviews of this, bashing the guy because a dream skin was included. Don't mind the pretty decent Initial D skin, just destroy the ratings because of something that I can guarantee over half of the people who rated it haven't used even once. Instead of rating how well done the skins were done people immediately jumped to harassing him just because of a Dream skin. Nearly none of the reviews are constructive.

It's embarrassing. Fucking embarrassing that while people are giving stuff that needs genuine criticism a full on 5 stars, or giving a joke mod a 5 stars and writing absolute garbage for a review, people are putting in the effort to write insults or just in general useless crap.
It goes back to the old rule. I used to have it in my biography thing here but it disappeared. Someone ages ago said that "The reviews that are given here are the equivalent to an elephant pooping on a keyboard." It looks like it's gotten even worse. It's not even a joke anymore, this is ridiculous.

While I'm at it, why is there so many troll accounts recently? A few days ago I saw someone upload a "nothing mod" which stayed up for a good few days before being removed, and people were liking it.... Wtf?
Anyways. Alot of you will probably disagree with me on this, and that's fine. But if you're going to disagree and comment please let me know why.

Yes, but BeamNG's forum used to be one of the few places free of heavy toxicity like this until very recently

 

And this is how to discourage people from getting into modding...
It's sad to see someone making their first mod and getting
harassed because others don't like a part of the content :/

Never entirely free. As the parrot guy said nowhere on the internet is entirely free of toxicity but it was never this shitty until a year or two ago

 

lots of places got shitty 2019-2020 and beamng was a victim, some people just haven't matured and then given a device. ive seen other communities turn nearly as bad as beamng and its getting worse as years go on. hopefully beamng doesnt turn into the "koininsegg" (or how you spell it) discussion but its the whole entire fourms and mods. in 2018-2019 it was passed off as a joke but now its just annoying and stupid.

The reviews are absolutely disgusting and im heavily disappointed by a few peoples that I thought to be parts of the "positive" side of this community, this guy doesn't deserve this.

I worked for weeks for my latest euro plates update, updating and fixing as many inaccuracies and issues I could found and people reported, added a new country to make the deal, and I got one guy crying because his country is not in, so 1 star of course.

As a starting point, I don't get why new people with 0 comments and 0 days in are allowed to review, since it allows most of this unfairness to happen, it's free and easy to do for these kind of people, but the issue goes further than that of course, I happened to came across this thread just after I ranted a bit on my thread, so I don't want to repeat things, but yes, I definitely feel you and community as a general is tumbling down out of control, every day there is less respect and maturity, what a shame...

I know a solution is hard or even impossible to find at this point, like a points/progress system to make sure that people that stay are worth it, and only they have certain privileges, but even that would backfire for sure somehow...
