probably not, the hopper's I6 is pretty much designed off the AMC 4.0 found in jeeps, but has similarities to nissan's TB42 engine and toyota's 1FZ engine. I could see them adding diesel variants of both hopper engines, though the basic design is too far removed from an RB or JZ. however, if they do add a platform cousin car with the 200BX remaster, it could reasonably be some kind of larger RWD executive car (though 90's ibishus are probably already a too saturated demographic)
Truth is, we don't really know that there will be a story to career. The Rocky Start campaign was supposed to be a demo of things to come, but it's pretty old [and a bit broken] by this point, and this isn't really the genre of game that favors a narrative approach.
I would rather the devs focus more on gameplay than narrative within story mode. With the Rocky Start, I did not care at all about the characters. The gameplay was way more fun (I still sometimes go back to play it again, even with the broken AI and laggy cutscenes). The devs should focus on making user accessability stronger. A way to set a race within a freeroam map and then have cars spawn in and race aggressively would be perfect. Being able to set way points on a map, and then cars in your class range spawn in, and you can then race. I dont know how hard this would be to implement, but it would probably make the game much easier for new players to pick up and start experiencing the amazing physics. ot: uhhhh the ibishu pessima facelift will probably be in the next update
The vehicle delivery scenario added in the most recent update is a bit like that, you spawn in a random car on a random point and you have to drive the car to another random point. Simple, but a good proof of concept.
I've been playing that scenario heaps lately, i think its the most fun i've had in Beam for ages. Except for when you get stuck on a tiny rock or driveway and you can't nodegrab so you are forever stuck and have to ruin your streak. I know that lots of people feel very overwhelmed with the map editor, so maybe a really barebones one in addition to the current one would be cool too. Just props (haybales, fences, containers and other simple race focused objects), terrain editor and a simplified ai editor (checkpoints and nodes that cars simply drive between). Imagine the FH4 one, but in Beam. We already have the Track Editor, but for a game focused on realism, I reckon most of the player base doesnt use it (just look at the downloads and amount of them, much less than the average category). Then, in addition with the AI, you could set up whole rally stages, or container crawls, and maybe even share them using online features as scenarios. Of course this would just be for the official maps. I would be fine with a whole update focusing on gameplay such as that, and forgoing a new car or remaster. ot: new teaser car definitely looks like a tuk tuk to me (tuk tuk would be cool tho, new pigeon config?) /s
It's important to remember that the talent that works on features and programming, such as scenarios and gamemodes, is separate from the teams that work on art and jbeam. Taking a vehicle or vehicle remaster out of the equation won't greatly speed up development of everything else.
Just noticed something i noticed about the teaser car It looks like it has a bit of an interior since you can see some seats and an eagle in the window. Also a wing?
Sorry to say, but the devs have rickrolled all of us with this image. Maybe the seats will appear when the car is ready (considering the car has four doors), but the wing is just a joke by the devs, and the eagle is just a reflection that looks like an eagle because of the low resolution, hahaha.

Well seeing how they Hyped this. then left it. Either they have run into to some issue. Or they wanna keep us hyped.
