There are other options too. The problem is that it would require a lot of work for a subpar result. Although @Arcanox could help with the hybrid coding, specially considering that this mod is really on the initial stages of development.
I mean, even a mild hybrid would be pretty cool! I know @DaddelZeit who could probably help with it, and even get a proper hybrid Procyon into the game. These things are very much possible and would definitely be interesting to see in the game.
Even though I have a "hybrid" lua, it's more of an diesel-electric-locomotive as I wasn't able to merge inputs. I can still give you it, just know that it's not an actual car hybrid.
Update! Over the last week… Part separations: (subject to change) Unibody internals started! First with the t-bone and side skirt… …onto the fender supports and firewall… …and underside. Then onto the frontal chassis, including headlight and bumper attachments and grille holes. …and how the frontal parts fit. More underside work… Now for the rear. Underside done! (with more edits to the looks of the rear bumper backing) …which means that the metal parts of the body are done! (frame will edit it quite a lot more but it’s finished generally) …with polyflow Now for the interior carpet. View attachment 852062 Which means the whole unibody is done! And a cool exploded view… …with a lot of bootspace. Next up is the frame. (wheel demo for suspension positioning) Bumper edits suggested by @Nacho Problem with a side view of the chassis if you wanted to compare More framework and the frame is pretty much done! …bumper support… View attachment 852086 …and fuel tank with appropriate supports. …which is where we’re at now! Thanks for staying with the project thus far, and hope to see you guys as it gets further! Next update on post #86
Looking good! If I would add a suggestion I would say that you should add something to make the car unique. The Lexus LX, Infiniti QX80 look somewhat similar and if there is something different about this car it would be great. (also the name, maybe Overclimber or Astra)
My goal is to gradually make my hybrid system easier and easier to adapt to other vehicles, so it's certainly possible. Any hybrid vehicles need a dependency on my "Arcanox Core" mod though, so I can keep all the code in one place that can be updated all at once and without other mods shipping outdated versions of it. So a hybrid version of the Procyon would probably work best as an "addon mod" to the base Procyon mod, and that addon would also need my Core mod installed along side it (to avoid all models of Procyon needing my mod installed, in case someone isn't interested in the hybrid version).
I’ll have to make my own, since it would be really annoying for the end user to have to install a separate mod to get the hybrid variants.
