Yeah, no, I respectfully don't agree with that. It looks too similar to the current Roamer facelift.

I don´t say it looks bad, i couldn´t do it better myself. I just say its not what i personally had in mind for it but again, i don´t complain about it. maybe it just looks not that appealing because the whole Mystery Config dont look appealing to me(besides the funky 20 inch aftermarket tuner wheels oh boy i will have fun with them) but lets see how it come out when its released

These vehicles are from the 90s and actually pretty accurate to the common design language of that decade IRL

I mean yeah, they teased the Wendover like 2 updates in advance, but that was a special occasion: we have been waiting for the Wendover since 2013 (well, those who happen to know this game from the very beginning, because I first heard of this game in early 2017)!

First of all, I'm somewhat unsure why so many people are complaining about the Gavril facelifts. Obviously they aren't going to be liked by everyone, but as far as late 90s / early 2000s go they seem to be period correct.

For the H-Series facelift, it makes sense that the devs are making a unique facia for it, instead of doing what was done in real life and copy and paste the one from the D-Series. Why do that when they can make something new? Something different, distinctive. While, once again, it's not going to be loved by everyone, it's showing that they are approaching this with the mindset of trying to be creative with them, rather than having them all being the same.

With the "mystery car," there's quite a bit of options with what it is. The devs have expressed that they want everything to have a (relatively) unique spot in the overall lineup of the game. This knocks out (or at least significantly dulls) the possibility of it being a modern saloon of sorts, since that niche is occupied by the ETK 800 Series. There are two, however, that would make sense for it. A modern muscle car, or a purpose built electric car. There's no car that could truly occupy the niche of "muscle" built after the 70s in the game, so having a modern muscle car, such as the Dodge Charger, would make sense. This also opens up a very large array of factory configs, ranging from a low level entry car like the SXT, to the high revving, tire squealing, rubber burning SRT Hellcat Redeye. It could also be in a completely different direction, occupying the niche of a purpose built electric car. The only electric cars are electric options of gas powered cars, so this is a possibility. This seems less likely of the two, given how the body lines of the car come across as more aggressive and muscular, the hood seems to extend too far from the windshield to simply hold an electric motor and a small cargo tray. Adding onto that, being a purpose build electric car means that configs are limited, and if the "drawing" over the parts we can't see is to be taken seriously, it points more so towards the idea of it being gas powered due to there being air intakes and exhaust. This is just my thoughts, based on what the limited information we have at the moment.

Umm, no, the pre-facelift Roamer has WAYYYYY more in common with the Explorer design wise.

    Just sayin'

The new car is definitely implied to have an ICE as on the teaser there are little exhaust lines drawn.

If the new car is American, that also fills another major gap, being the lack of modern American cars (the newest currently is the facelift Roamer ending in 2005).

Yeah i know this is not the Ideas & Suggestions Thread but: since there is a gap in there plus this could fill yet another content gap i would dig an modern japanese 4WD since there is no and the game still needs alot of aftermarket 4WD parts.

I really hope and think the new car is a modern 4 door muscle car like a charger. Garvil Powr-cord helldog black eye wide body

optional 2-door bodystyle would be awesome too but it seems from the teaser it just wasn´t designed to be anything other than a 4-door

And from the back definitely not Land Cruiser 100!
Not to mention that the Roamer looks better than the Navigator because it doesn't have those stupid cheap glossy black plastics all over it, that make the Navigator look like it got the sealing treatment for submerging. And the Roamer's proportions in general look better than both the Navigator and the LC100 (I'd say it's closer in looks to the LC200, which is my favorite model - they both have similar proportions).
From the front, yep, the '99 Roamer is definitely a '99 GMC Yukon/Cadillac Escalade!

Speaking of... can you imagine a Burnside Full-Size SUV based on the '99 Roamer? Hmmmm...!

There's always the possibility of a "sister car" being two doors and on a shorter wheelbase like the challenger is to the charger but using most of the same components, but there is no evidence of this happening as of now.

Following up on this, but it would technically be possible to do the same thing but with an SUV on a slightly modified and larger wheelbase like the Ford D3/D4 platform for the Taurus/Explorer respectively.

The vehicles are made and designed, to fit a certain time period with inspiration from models from that time.
They aren't made to look pretty, they are made to look realistic. Just like IRL, you see an ugly car now and then.

Eitherway, how something looks, is totally subjective anyway.
So I just think your criticism is uncalled for.

imo, beam cars take just as long as irl cars to make, (even if they arent lore friendly)
they've got to 3d model everything, make sounds/edit sounds, and make a custom jbeam for it, which is basically the hardest part.
i know the devs are basically insane (in a good way lol) people because of how good they make all the base game cars.
they are working on the pessima remaster, which will have more parts, so more jbeam, texturing and modelling work,
they are working on a new car (shown in teaser) which, is scratch made obviously, and most modders know how long it takes to make a base game quality mod. (for those who dont, it takes a LONG time)
The H series is also getting some new bits, so more modelling ,texturing and jibbim.
and on top of that, they're improving the game engine.
oh yea, who could forget the FRIDGE. that probably is the most difficult thing to make. (this is sarcasm :p;))

I wouldn't call them "insane people", they are just responsible people doing their job as well as they can, knowing that the product has to be as high quality as possible, so that the game keeps improving and being the best vehicle physics simulator there is, while also looking pretty good thanks to quality models and textures.
