Lets get back on track with the speculating.
Do you guys think the Pessima will receive a more beefier V6 or something like that?
I always felt the 2.7 Liter was a tad bit underpowered even with the beefier ECU mapping

 

i don't think so.
A 2.7 V6 fits a 90's family sedan perfectly.

 

They could easily pump it to 3 Liter as enough japanese midsize sedans in their higher trims were.
Toyota Camry, Nissan Maxima. Just to name a few. Would be just as fitting but it would drive alot better with that extra bit of power.

 

What I principally hope with the Pessima Remaster, are better exhaust.
Because the V6 sounds really great without one, so it will be really cool when we'll have some kind of race/tuned exhaust

 

The 2.7 V6 is one fine engine although I think that by 1996 (the year of introduction of the 'new' Pessima) all Japanese Midsize Sedans already had 3-liter V6s. So yeah, I could see a 3-liter V6 entering the catalogue of engine choices.
One thing is for sure though: the 2.7 V6 needs the Stage-1/Stage-2 Performance Long Blocks because it's quite a free-revving engine and the sole "Heavy Duty Long Block" choice we have right now isn't enough @7500rpm or higher! And I hope that the 3-liter gets them too, if it enters BeamNG at all that is!
Moreover, the 2.7 V6 could also be put in the 'old' 1988 Pessima. It could make for a good Bruckell LeGran competitor!

Yeah, would make alot more sense to "old up" the 2.7 a little for the 1st gen and make a 3.0 Liter for the second gen so as you said i could compete with the Legran and the second gen be a class of its own.

There has been 130 messages since the last time I checked this thread (20 hours ago), I thought that something interesting happened but no it's just full of hypetrain shitposts based on no informations saying that the update will come out anytime soon. Kinda disappointed ngl

 

Well, it is what it is.

 

Yep, the 2.7 V6 could be put in the 'old' Pessima and the said 3.0 V6 could be put in the 'new' Pessima. Hadn't thought about separating the two V6s into one for each generation but it is the most logical thing to do, since the 'new' Pessima is quite a bit larger and heavier.

Wouldn't say this about the wagon at least. The ETK 800-Series and the Bruckell LeGran Wagon are very different from each other so a Pessima Wagon, with the oriental flavor of the Sedan on which it would be based, would clearly add diversity.

 

Yeah, you really feel it especially on an auto pessima it just is underpowered for the car. it takes ages to accelerate it from stop to atleast 30 mph while cruising normal which shouldnt be a problem for a car about 1500kg powered by a what should be a beefy V6 for smooth cruising and power delivery all across the rpm band

 

I think most of that is likely tbh.

I'm expecting this to be very similar to the LeGran remaster; including the taxi and rally versions (The Pessima has just as much IRL justification for AWD as the LeGran had).

Diesels probably won't be included since overall that omission seems to be a running theme with cars in game built before 2010... We can hope though...

The wagon is where I depart from those expectations though. While a wagon is possible, a lift back is more interesting and just as justifiable (as Capt'n Zoll posted about the other day). Best case scenario would be both body styles, but I would be shocked to see that much recources invested into it.

 

Tbh, with a logical exception, I haven't noticed any weak spots in the "2.7 V6/4-Speed Auto" combination for the 'new' Pessima. Yes, it naturally is slower than the "2.7 V6/V6 5-Speed Manual" combo but it too is fairly powerful throughout the rev range.
The only logical exception is when cruising on 4th gear and want to accelerate full throttle. The 4-Speed Auto dulls the experience down a bit in this case due to its slow reaction to the full-throttle signal. It takes a while to downshift.
Oh well, it could be worse: it could be the Bruckell 136hp/225nm "3.3 V6/3-Speed Auto" combo having to move the ~1440kg LeGran or, even worse, the ~1600kg Wendover!
But yeah, the 2.7 V6 would certainly have easier work to do in the smaller and lighter 'old' Pessima.

 

That could be a great opportunity to begin that "dieselification" !
