I notice that the optimization on the maps where there was a remast has become worse on utah before with traffic it was 35 or even 40 fps right now even up to 25 sometimes goes down I think it's pbr although it works on ultra and I just have high quality
I don't know it it's been mentioned or if it's a known issue or what but the photomode roll issue is still happening where leaving and reopening photomode will make the roll say 0 on the UI but it will be at whatever roll you last had it at It can be fixed by leaving and reopening roll again
no, everything is fine after all, apparently the first launch with traffic has affected so far the problems are definitely with junglerock
Gonna make a honest, but kind of short and very unprofessional review of the 0.24 update now that I've been able to mess around with it a bit. While the remaster of the H-Series and Pessima, the inclusion of PBR material surfaces ( for 3 maps ), the addition of missions in freeroam, and even underglow on some cars are great, along with the future inclusion of a brand new vehicles, the fact is that this update was a bit unnecessary at the moment. Again, the inclusion of new vehicles, features, etc, is great, but should be things that are added after the game gets out of early access. This game has been in early access since 2015, with the promise of a career mode being placed on the main menu for a long time. In my opinion, the Devs should really focus on getting this game out of early access and turning this game into more than just a crash physics sandbox with tiny showcases of what this game could be capable of with scenarios and campaigns. (Please don't reply with a 4 paragraph long essay on how "Beamng Drive is more then just a car crashing simulator," the super realistic softbody physics is literally one of it's main selling points and has a whole campaign about destroying cars in spectacular fashion.) Also, updating the menu when the original menu was perfectly fine was also a bit unnecessary in my eyes, and is again, something that should've been implemented until after the base game is finished. If the purpose of the new menu was to supposedly fix bugs, then why bother changing the whole UI instead of just fixing the bugs in the old UI and then focus on taking the game out of early access? I love Beamng, and I want it to stay successful and fun for players to mess around with, but there's need to be a focus in development and not just remaster old vehicles or add new ones when the base game isn't out yet. Career mode needs to be implemented, the game needs to be taken out of early access, and game breaking bugs and performance issues need to be fixed. New cars, props, textures, and minor features can wait on the back burner for a while. In short, I enjoy the 0.24 update, along with the remastered Pessima and H-Series, but as good as 0.24 is, it's not the kind of update Beamng needs at the moment. I know I'm probably in the minority and this "review" is going to seem like a hot take, but all I want is for Beamng to thrive, and I wish the best of luck to anyone and everyone working on Beamng.
I wish the top bar was on the left like the old ui --- Post updated --- This is the same as it would be if it was out of early access. Doesn’t change anything. You do realize that remastering cars, making new cars, and making props is like 80% of the game to the player right.. and they are working on everything you’re saying in the background. If they did what you were saying you’d be complaining that the cars were dated and there was no new content lol
Apart from the absence of the Nodeoline gas station sidewalk ramp next to the first hydrant, I found one more mistake on the WCUSA map. The depiction of this map on the onboard GPS systems, the UI Navigation App and the all new Map Overview feature needs to be updated to the current state. In the 0.21 Update of December 2020, a small turnaround section was added at the start of the Infield course for joining it with the other small pathway of this fork and, also, with the first chicane of the back straight. This road section isn't depicted in any of the aforementioned means of navigation and this has been the case with the onboard GPS systems and the UI Navigation App ever since the 0.21 Update dropped.
I agree, but i believe it's simply that the team is divided beetween the different capacities of people, and that they are working on the career mode and all that, but some people in the dev team are more qualified for doing cars and graphics things. Like for example Diamondback is the one taking car of the electronics, Gabester is designing models at least, etc.
the radial menu stops working after a while one person wrote that in 10 minutes and I don't have glitches of water in Italy and on the cliff and on the peninsula of the USA
The game is in alpha, every update is a public test until full release. I think you are making assumptions that inclusions of some features means work not being done on others. If there was a very small handful of developers then I could understand that mindset, but in reality there'll be many developers working on different aspects of the game. It doesn't make sense for vehicle dev to sit there waiting for the UI dev to finish what they're doing, nothing would ever get done. Agree with this 100%. I'm no developer, but I work with developers and what the end user sees is the tip of the iceberg.
I am very impressed with the remasters for the Pessima and the H-Series, and like the new furniture additions like the sofa and the TV. As a sidenote, does anyone know if it's possible to enable a light theme for the new UI? I find it quite hard to read dark themes, and having an adjustment would be nice.
