It seems that switching between different sized tabs like Vehicle Config to Environment causes the game to move the camera incorrectly.

 

I love the new UI its easy to navagate for me

 

Yeah I'm not so sure what everyone is having trouble with. Aside from the menu being on the top edge and the wheel not working properly at the moment, everything is either in the same place it used to be, or it's intuitive enough that I was able to find it easily.

 

I loved the old UI, this new one is not falling in taste for me Im sorry. I like the main menu, but in game I wish I could use the old one. It feels so cluttered now.

 

I had a very similar gripe and also thought of an improvement to this as well. If there could be a dedicated UI Apps layout for the vehicle customization menu, it could allow you to put UI elements (live alignment, dyno graphs etc.) in the center of the screen or anywhere you wouldn't want it while also driving.

 

The new UI is pretty decent in terms of design, some things to gripe about:

Could have a dark/light mode switch
Some features from old ui could have been kept, like the UI apps still being there when tuning a car as many have said
The buttons like back, radial menu etc are, in a decent place, but when clicking main menu, it doesn't despawn you from the map, annoying on lower end pcs, when if youre on a large map, definitely gets laggy.
There definitely is a resource leak somewhere, UI apps lag after a certain amount of car tuning (most notable because i have 4gb of ram.)
Why do we have to scroll down all the way in the tuning menu to click 'apply'? I feel that it's gonna really piss some one when they're using the crashhard classic or the big rig, or even the gavril vertex, since lot of parts.

As everybody is saying negative things about the new UI, I just wanted to say that the old UI was ugly IMO and very slow. The new one is 10 times prettier and faster but it needs a few polish to be ergonomic as there's a few old features that were nice that got removed in the new UI

 

Although I don't feel like it's an improvement other the old one but more of a side step, I don't mind the new UI.
I'm pretty sure the devs won't be remaking the entire UI system for a smoother any soon experience but I think a great feature would be a "UI Smoothness" graphic setting.
Something that allows us to set the framerate of the UI higher because the current framerate is VERY low and it feels awful.
Maybe it's possible to set the framerate dynamically like as long as we are in the main menu the framerate is 60 and when we are in game it's 30?

 

I want to be able to disable that Beeping sound on the vehicle selector, also it would be nice to have a choice on theme color, I dont like the Dark theme.

I'm sorry but I don't like the new UI, I preferred the 0.23 UI.

I do like the two vehicle re-masters and the new shortcut options, but the rest looks rushed, weird, or unnecessary.

1. I'm not a fan of the forced Dark-Mode, They should add an option to switch between Dark and Light mode, especially if you driving in the dark.

2. The UI sounds, At first it may sound good but then it's annoying over-time, They should add an option to mute it.

3. The Pause Button is too small for my taste, They should at least kept the big Pause Symbol from the previous UI or added something similar.

4. From what I heard, there are some bugs in the new UI like the mods button disabled, UI apps not showing, and the disappearing wheel bug..

5. There is no Radial Menu, They could at least made it simultaneously or optional.

6. Rumors about the new update eating memory.

Those are my reasons why I don't like 0.24, I would like to see someone could made a UI mod based on the 0.23 UI (Menu, Pause Symbol, Radial Menu, Light-Mode, etc.) though it may sound impossible to make it, thanks.

 

1. In this thread, https://www.beamng.com/threads/0-24-feedback.83326/ tdev says that making both a light mode and dark mode would be pretty hard and not worth the hassle.
2. You can, by lowering the effect slider.

4. Didn't have any of those, they should be fixed in the next hotfix.
5. It is still here. Press E to bring it up, press F5 if it doesn't work and retry.
6. Seems to be true.

 

Okay after spending some time with the new UI, its pretty basic and I actually like it XD It's maybe a little slower since its not 100px to each icon as before.
Anyway I want to thank the devs for really pushing this game into the light lately.
It has huge potential for racing, I hope there will be some kind of scoreboard/leaderboard for each sector and routes with watchable replays.

Please can we have the old interface back.

 

For me new ui is ugly + user ui was reset and they added new controler keybinds no message do you want to change keybinds nothing

 

If you're playing in the dark than light mode is the last thing you want if you want to keep your retinas.

 

I like the new UI.
Main menu - more space and clear.
In game top menu - icon with text is better than old icon only.
Size of pause button??? It is just pause and it also has keyboard shortcut, no need to make it bigger
Dark mode?, no problem. It is not like dark mode in graphical desktop apps where you are constantly watching on UI.

 

Finally made an account after all these years just for this.
I have a couple of issues. The UI apps are extremely buggy. Resizing them works occasionally at best. I would also love to see the button to collapse the traffic app added back.
I also don't like that I have no room to see past the menu or move the camera in the vehicle selector.
