I found them like half a year ago or earlier. Their textures are linked to a LUA file that is all commented off. The file also requires a Jbeam section that can be found hidden deep in some D-Series files left over from mid remastering phase. But even after linking everything together you still have no texture, as the LUA file metions some mirror controls that aren't functioning at the moment.
Rally bolide looks damn cool. Bolide is a fitting name for a group b car because I believe it translates roughly to “fireball” and when you crash a group b car… In all seriousness, qa_stable being updated this much confuses me… didn’t the not update it before 0.24?
I wonder if updated Bolide will physically fit an average size human (currently it doesn't and it's the only vanilla car with this issue)
By the looks of it, these are sport tires for tarmac and the reason they have a high profile is because all tires back then had a respectable profile height, to say the least. The rear gravel guards are useful in both asphalt and gravel stages though.
There's a lot of content to be added to the Piccolina. Two-tone paint designs, a Landaulet (or Decapotabile, in Italian) body with various colour choices for the soft top, Drag parts and engine swaps, these come to my mind! --- Post updated --- Yep, magnesium structure, body panels covered in oil spills from engine work in the Service Park, cantankerous fuels... That's an explosive cocktail for sure! --- Post updated --- And a crazy superbuild too! Remember the Civettalina!!
Sometimes they tease stuff but we have to wait through a couple of update cycles. The Wendover comes to mind.
In greek it means the bullet of a gun but yeah, it's also used metaphorically for describing something fast.
Alright, bolide means lots of things, we get it. I was making a joke. (It does mean fireball in Italian though)
Yes, the first thing we did for the remaster was tweak the proportions. There's now about 5cm more headroom (mostly raising the rearward part of the roofline, the actual height of the car is only 2.5cm extra now), 15cm more pedal room, and the overall width of the car is narrower but it still has broader "shoulders" since the greenhouse is narrower still.
All these little stuff that we don't necessarily see while playing are really important and proves the attention which is accorded to details Anyways, even if it's splitted in two (and that little deception/incomprehension when we didn't saw the Bastion in game on the update release (you don't rush art and that's normal)), this is probably be one of the denser and most important update ! Back to speculations : do you think that the Etk center we saw on Nadeox's Imgur will come in this update, or that we'll see it in 0.25 ?
Good catch, I was level designer for about 4 years, but I've been back on the vehicle team since the Vivace was in development
Going back to the Piccolina, it's very clearly based on the Fiat 600 which, on top of the Trasformabile with a foldable soft top, also had a proper cabrio model, the 600 Capri Cabriolet, so it would be cool to have it in game (although it's way too soon to remaster it)
