Bruckell Bastion

Obviously my new favourite official car in game.

Just noticed that on "Caged" drivemode there is around 295 hp.

 

Lovely car the Bastion! I especially love the Battlehawk and Battlehawk Redtail versions, they are absolute beasts of cars! I didn't expect them to handle as good as they do but they truly are amazing for what they're packing under the hood!
The new 'Caged' and 'Savage' drive modes truly do what they say (as do all drive modes in BeamNG) and add a large dash of (in)sanity in their part!

Now for the details I think are in need of correction.
1) The 3.5 V6 has the start-up and turn-off sounds of the 80s/90s/00s V8s mixed in the V6 sound. They are clearly noticeable and I don't think they suit the V6 sound. Even the V6 sound itself, although very nice and smooth, isn't really fitting for a large 2010s V6.
2) The Sport 5.7 should have the Quad Exit Exhaust Mufflers to be distinguished from the Sport GT 6.5, which has the Sport Exhaust Mufflers. These two models appear to have exactly the same rear end treatment (same Sport Spoiler, same Sport Exhaust Mufflers, even the rear bumper appears to be the same, if it wasn't for the Sport GT 6.5's Widebody Sport Rear Bumper). Besides, the Quad Exit Exhaust Mufflers sound loud enough for the Sport 5.7 on 'Sport' and 'ESC/TC off' modes, so they are just fine for the car. But the Sport 5.7 could have the Sport Intake to distinguish it from the Luxe 5.7, which has neither the Sport Intake nor the Quad Exit Exhaust Mufflers.
3) The Drag variant should use the Sport Exhaust Mufflers instead of the Quad Exit Exhaust Mufflers because they add some more HP due to better flow. Ideally, it should have no exhaust whatsoever, since Drag Racing needs every little extra HP squeezed out. Plus the exhaust adds some unwanted weight!
4) All variants equipped with the Brake Line Lock should have the Front Wheel Line Lock instead of the Rear one because the Bastion is a RWD car and burnouts get difficult when the Rear Lines are locked. This is also true to the Moonhawk Drag variant.
5) As for the exhaust 3D model, the Exhaust Pipes have no holes in their ends on the mufflers side for the gases to exit (they do have holes on the Exhaust Manifolds side though, as do the Manifolds themselves, both on the Block side and on the Pipes side) and neither do the standard Exhaust Mufflers of the 3.5 V6 on their Exhaust Pipes side.
6) The 3D model of the body looks great but, as others have already stated, the JBeams at the rear end need some improving. Also, the passenger doors need to be a bit more robustly fitted to the body because they jiggle a bit during hard off-the-line acceleration (this can only be seen from the inside, there's no problem from the outside). No other modern (that is late 2000s/2010s/2020s, starting from the Sunburst) car in BeamNG does that.
7) The Grille Flashers on the Police 5.7 AWD variant don't work.

That's exactly what the 'Caged' mode is for: fitting a sanity chip to the Redtail beast (or caging it in thick bars and tying it down with thick chains, for that matter) for the optimal everyday drivability. This drive mode even has a built-in Speed Limiter, at around 250km/h or 155mph!

edit: I've just found out that the 'Caged' mode has no speed limiter integrated but it disconnects the supercharger (among other things), so the speed limiter effect comes in play at ~250km/h or 155mph, where the low 295hp of natural aspiration takes its toll and the car can't go any faster than that.

The factory Manual is great but, personally, I prefer the 8-Speed Automatic. I think it really helps the V8s show their true capabilities. And the almost instantaneous kickdown for accelerating is just addicting!

i fell in love with this car. A little bug tho: the starter sound for the v6 is the v8's starter sound.

Yes, it is normal. The Devs mixed the V8 sound files in the V6 sound in order to make this new 3.5 V6 sound different from the other, older V6s in the game. It does but in a very wrong way. But as one of the Devs said, it's what they have at the moment.
