    It depends both on the year and make of the car as well as what you're used to in real life. Americans are very used to the durability of a crown vic or caprice, both commonly used in racing or even demolition-derbying after their 500,000 fleet miles, but modern cars are built more with safety than durability in mind, leading them to crumple more. European cars, with their safety focus (and on more affordable models, cheapness focus) crumple way more than even average modern American cars, but I think the Bastion is about right in strength vs. safety.

    I agree:) btw the crown vic isn‘t as durable as it is always shown at least not in higher speed crashes look at the crash test results it crumbles like hell in side and front impact testing

    The Bastion is definitely too weak. I sent it and the Tograc into a wall at 100 km/h, with a small overlap (steering wheel roughly aligned with the edge of the wall), and the results would be shocking if this were a real car :p


    The results aren't too different in actual "car vs. car" tests. The FCV, despite being a fair bit lighter than the Bastion, suffers far less cabin damage after a small overlap crash between the two cars, with less intrusion of the structure into the occupants' space.

    Let's be honest, it was first manufactured in 2015. Cars weren't as strong as new 2021 cars. So, it's fine.

    First of all if you look at real world crashes almost nobody survives at speeds greater than 80km/h into a solid object the g-forces are far too great for that and real carˋs occupant compartments buckle at speeds more than the 40mph or 64kmh crash test because they are made for these tests look at the iihs test with speeds up to 56mph and you know what i mean btw i remember people saying the fcv cars are too sturdy compared to real vehicles as they came out

    I wouldn't expect anyone to walk away from that 100km/h crash in good health, but the point is the Bastion feels far too weak. Plus, the deformation is totally unnatural, it would be unacceptable for a modern car to deform such that the driver's seat pitches and rotates so strongly in an accident (proper restraint of occupants is crucial to a car's safety).
    You can always try this test with the ETK 800 or the K-Series instead, for example, and you'll probably see similar results (I haven't tried it but I'm confident the 800 would still win against the Bastion).

    As you can clearly see the Bastion performed poorer than 800 Series. :(

    Thanks for answering:) well if that´s what you feel about it but looking at real world crashes the cars look like that after such impacts against solid objects but i agree the bastion may still have a few bugs but the devs will iron those out. And the etk 800 and k-series are older beam cars they havenˋt got a structural remaster for years now beam ng progresses it was not the same level its today back then.

    Looks like the Tograc is too strong. The Bruckell performs as well as the Charger/300 does in the small overlap test:

    That´s exactly what i meant with the cars feeling like hard rubber and the speed there is only 40mph or 64kmh and real cars look like that but with the bastion it really feels like beam ng evolved to a next level in realism like how the bumpers break away much easier like in real life and the engine breaks faster in high speed crashes and just how gradual the deformation is.

    I would say the 300 did quite a bit better than the Bastion, the interior stays in much better shape I would say, with less cabin intrusion and dislocation of the driver. However, the test is done at a bit over half the speed of my comparison, so the results aren't quite comparable. If anyone has a similar test of the Bastion at 40 mph, it would be an interesting comparison :)

    Edit - Also, now that I'm noticing it, the IIHS test appears to have a slightly smaller overlap than what I used. This is also a crucial detail for the tests to be similar.

    Also mind that beam ng is not 100% realistic and realistically seen never will be but with the newer cars and features they gradually progress closer to that goal and i think thatˋs great with every new vehicle they seem to get better and i canˋt wait what the future for beam ng holds.

    btw to stay on topic with the bastion it seems to be missing a rear bumper bar/support pls correct me if i am wrong

    Are you comparing real crash tests of 60-70Km/h to a 100Km/h crash in game? I remember article about crash test done at 100Km/h (or above) on several cars and none of them had intact passenger cabin. If you want good comparison make crashes at the same speed as they do IRL.

    Theres just that feeling that that engine sound doesnt suit the Bastion.Its just my opinion on that
