I still think the next remaster might be of the 200BX, its interior is one of the most lacking, as as a tuner styled car (since it is front Engined, Rear Wheel drive, and with a similar chassis to some common known drift cars) it lacks a LOT of customization options. The Miramar is one of my favorites vehicles to drive, it has an awesome dinamyc, but lacks customizations as well. The covet is kinda good for now, needs a remaster, but I don't see it being as urgent as some other vehicles in the BeamNG lineup, like the 200BX, the Moonhawk, the Miramar
True that, the Miramar and the 200BX are lacking a lot of content right now. The 200BX also needs its interior remastered and the Miramar needs its body reworked. And one of the nicest additions would be some 6-cylinder engines (Inline-6s for the Miramar but the 200BX could also use a V6 along with an Inline-6). The Inline-4s have become boring.
I think the entire Shiokarai situation might have turned the dev team off from that lol Totally agree with that. They need remasters more than the Covet with its (semi-) recent content updates. However, it is be a little odd to see newer vehicles being remastered before the older ones. The fact that the Covet has been around since the beginning and hasn't gotten a remaster is kind of insane to me.
I hope I'm not the only one who would love this idea So as many of you know, we don't really have a luxury sedan/limo vehicle in the game, something like: AUDI A8, Mercedes S-Class, Bentley Flying Spur, BMW 760li, Rolls Royce in general etc. Would be really cool if we could get such a car, but again just a idea I know many people would also like to see a modern SUV. Just a few ideas for the vehicle, if it were to happen: Engines V12/W12 Gasoline V8 Gasoline V6 Gasoline V6 Diesel (Would also like to see a V8 Diesel) Gearboxes 9-Speed automatic for the V8(s) and for the W12/V12 7-Speed automatic for the smaller and cheaper models -------- The V6s should be fitted with rwd, to save costs, otherwise awd. Would also be nice to the All-Wheel-Steering on the model, or at least on the high ends versions. Just my idea, what you guys think?
The only reason the covet didn't receive the remaster earlier is because of these mini updates it has already received, the other vehicles were looking more outdated than the Covet

So, stenyak uploaded this to Development media The most curious statement to me is I lack knowledge on this topic so I might be wrong but I always thought fullscreen is the worst for input lag since you need to use it together with v-sync to get rid of screen tearing which made me have all my games running in borderless
In my own experience, Windows focuses even less on its system processes when something else, like BeamNG or YouTube, is in fullscreen. System processes outside of Windows Explorer are less important in that scenario. Windowed would probably be the worst for input lag.
You're right, we've become somewhat salty in our expressions. Also yeah, the Covet has received some good minor tweaks over the past couple of years but it is still missing some content which can broaden its appeal. AWD, different body styles, Performance Long Blocks that can withstand very high RPMs (talking about more than the existing 8200RPMs being the upper limit right now), stuff like that.
If you never see image tears, then some kind of syncing must have happened somewhere. Syncing means extra delays, therefore extra input lag. I've never seen tears in Windowed nor Borderless mode. I remember reading rumours that borderless can detect if its running in fullscreen-like conditions, and automatically reroute to a fullscreen-like fast path (therefore bypassing the syncing step, the window compositing step, etc), but I'm not sure I've seen that happen in any game. Then again my knowledge is probably outdated by now; I should address that before continuing much further heh.
Sooo… looking at the thing from stenyak, could the car on the screen signify anything? Looks like a grand marshal set up for rallying EDIT: not rallying but point still stands
From how little we see i really don't think we should try to speculate based on that. At least for what car it is, I would like to know what wheel it could be since I don't recognise it or if it is a mod, like the dtroxx wheel pack.
It really looks the exact same as the wheels on the race pessima.. But I don't think they are the same, as These can't be coloured, and the outter rim looks different. I couldn't find any other wheels that come closer. so they are most likely not in game. YET. picture for reference:
It's the new Ibishu Center Lug wheel, so the car is probably the new Pessima. --- Post updated --- The rear wheels are the Dreid CVTAs, they have 5 spokes and they're part of the official content. The Ibishu Center Lug wheels actually can be coloured (get to the 'Paint 2' area and see for yourself) as opposed to the Dreid CVTA wheels and the Civetta Intrecciata and Beta Rivoluzione wheels, which only come in predetermined colours (black and white for the CVTAs, gold and silver for the Intrecciata and black, gold and silver for the Rivoluzione).
A bit off topic, but do you think the current limit of BeamNG, like scratches, debris, dynamic environment...is due to the Torque3d engine? You can't do physic-based partical system, you can't have dynamic decal, no chunk-based loading, hell, even in-game swapping skybox is none. It's very old and limited, compare to other popular game engine like Unity or Unreal. The devs have to spending time to work on the engine limitation instead of the game content itself, that's why PBR take years to come, and now we have to change the workflow...If they choose a diffrent engine from the start, BeamNG could have been finish in just 4-5 years instead of ten
True, but as of right now, the number of changes made to the torque3d engine is so much, that it really isn't torque3d anymore, guess you could call it the BeamEngine™, And the graphics are being improved one thing at a time, we got better AO, now we have PBR on cars, we're getting PBR on maps now, so soon enough, i think we'll get an atmosphere overhaul, new skyboxes, better nightime lighting, and better lighting in general, so, the Dev's have changed basically everything. You could use unity or Unreal engine, but then, the assets and stuff are not gonna have the correct style of physics which beam requires, graphics may improve, but not sure if it'll still work for some hardware, and, they're now testing out Vulkan for it, so that's a thing. This game has com a LONG way, and it has a LONG way to go until it's almost perfect. And then, the modding support for this game is absolutely insane, you've got people making proper usable multiplayer, which, well, the Dev's wanted to do in their own way, but it wasn't on top of the list. Considering how much help this modding community gives to the Dev's, progress will be a bit smoother and quicker
I'll speculate slightly: I think we will get the Moonhawk model that will be the second gen of it. Since Bruckell is Chrysler based, that fits good for my opinion
Bruckell/Soliad are mostly GM based but yeah, the Bastion is definitely Chrysler/Dodge based. I don't think we'll get the Moonhawk remastered in 0.25 though it certainly needs a content expansion and a general overhaul because it's over 8 years old.
