If you never see image tears, then some kind of syncing must have happened somewhere. Syncing means extra delays, therefore extra input lag. I've never seen tears in Windowed nor Borderless mode. I remember reading rumours that borderless can detect if its running in fullscreen-like conditions, and automatically reroute to a fullscreen-like fast path (therefore bypassing the syncing step, the window compositing step, etc), but I'm not sure I've seen that happen in any game. Then again my knowledge is probably outdated by now; I should address that before continuing much further heh.
Sooo… looking at the thing from stenyak, could the car on the screen signify anything? Looks like a grand marshal set up for rallying EDIT: not rallying but point still stands
From how little we see i really don't think we should try to speculate based on that. At least for what car it is, I would like to know what wheel it could be since I don't recognise it or if it is a mod, like the dtroxx wheel pack.
It really looks the exact same as the wheels on the race pessima.. But I don't think they are the same, as These can't be coloured, and the outter rim looks different. I couldn't find any other wheels that come closer. so they are most likely not in game. YET. picture for reference:
It's the new Ibishu Center Lug wheel, so the car is probably the new Pessima. --- Post updated --- The rear wheels are the Dreid CVTAs, they have 5 spokes and they're part of the official content. The Ibishu Center Lug wheels actually can be coloured (get to the 'Paint 2' area and see for yourself) as opposed to the Dreid CVTA wheels and the Civetta Intrecciata and Beta Rivoluzione wheels, which only come in predetermined colours (black and white for the CVTAs, gold and silver for the Intrecciata and black, gold and silver for the Rivoluzione).
True, but as of right now, the number of changes made to the torque3d engine is so much, that it really isn't torque3d anymore, guess you could call it the BeamEngine™, And the graphics are being improved one thing at a time, we got better AO, now we have PBR on cars, we're getting PBR on maps now, so soon enough, i think we'll get an atmosphere overhaul, new skyboxes, better nightime lighting, and better lighting in general, so, the Dev's have changed basically everything. You could use unity or Unreal engine, but then, the assets and stuff are not gonna have the correct style of physics which beam requires, graphics may improve, but not sure if it'll still work for some hardware, and, they're now testing out Vulkan for it, so that's a thing. This game has com a LONG way, and it has a LONG way to go until it's almost perfect. And then, the modding support for this game is absolutely insane, you've got people making proper usable multiplayer, which, well, the Dev's wanted to do in their own way, but it wasn't on top of the list. Considering how much help this modding community gives to the Dev's, progress will be a bit smoother and quicker
I'll speculate slightly: I think we will get the Moonhawk model that will be the second gen of it. Since Bruckell is Chrysler based, that fits good for my opinion
Bruckell/Soliad are mostly GM based but yeah, the Bastion is definitely Chrysler/Dodge based. I don't think we'll get the Moonhawk remastered in 0.25 though it certainly needs a content expansion and a general overhaul because it's over 8 years old.
You mean a 1979+ model year? Historically speaking all of the counterpart cars were either discontinued or downsized after that generation.
There are already non-functional door and seatbelt lights in the Bastion's gauge cluster too. Probably for career mode. Will most likely be added to all of the modern cars where it would make sense in such a scenario.
That's very nice! Now some functional upper-panel lighting has to be added! There are some BeamNG cars which already have the base for it (the FCVs, the Wendover, the Wigeon, the Bastion are those I remember having it)! --- Post updated --- We say this because there has to be a good differentiation factor between the BeamNG brands. ETK is the Inline-6 brand, Cherrier has the Inline-5 as its hallmark, Gavril and Bruckell are well known for their V8s, Ibishu is the Inline-4 brand, so why can't Hirochi make the Flat engines (either Flat-4s or Flat-6s or, why not, both - plus the boxer diesel niche to be filled) as its Unique Selling Point? The same is also true about the 6-cylinder engines of Gavril and Bruckell. Gavril has its renowned Inline-6 (which started as a 3.8l/232ci in 1962, powering the Bluebuck, and evolved into the 4.1l for the 1986 model year) and this engine made it until the 2017 model year powering the H-Series, so it could definitely get a modern Inline-6 successor at around 3.5 - 4.0l of displacement. Gavril is also famed for the 8.9 TCM and 10.6 TCX diesel Inline-6s put in the Wentward DT40-L and in the Gavril T-Series respectively. On the other hand, in the 70s, Bruckell had the 4.0l/244ci Inline-6 for the Moonhawk but they switched to V6 engines for the 1984 model year (during which the LeGran was introduced) and they keep the V6 configuration to this day, with the Bastion. And because both the Inline-6s and the V6s of both these American brands are mounted longitudinally nowadays, it's very important for the brands to keep a certain degree of differentiation, which comes by the engines' own configurations. Having the same engines to all cars can be pretty darn boring!
we are gonna need rotarys for sure... imo it should either be ibishu or a completely new company. we also dont have any v12s yet. either civetta or ETK should get on that.
interesting that the bastion is literally called chrysler300c in this lol, guess they knew the kind of car they were making the stuff for but not the name
Yep! A Japanese brand is the best for taking the role of the Rotary brand. I agree, the candidates for this are either Ibishu or a totally new brand, a Japanese brand for that matter. V12s could elevate ETK's luxury status but I'm not so sure about Civetta. Only if there's a model different enough from the Bolide, which already is very characteristic.
Probably a bit off topic but last night I literally had a dream that I was driving around in beam and there was dynamic dirt accumulation and mud particles that got stuck to the car when I drove off road. Another weird part of the dream: the car looked a like a mix of modern Ford ranger and Toyota Hilux (from what I can remember) which is NOT something that the game has right now. Therefore I speculate that in some update in the future both dynamic dirt/ mud accumulation and a vehicle based on the current Ford Ranger and/or Toyota Hilux will be added to the game.
