Heres finally the shots i took a week or so ago --- Post updated --- Edit: Added two from today, almost forgot i tinkered with the river, almost makes me thirsty
@PowerstrokeHD The ETK was having fun at its own cost, i was a mere passenger. AL16 released! It consists of the usual tonemapping changes and postfx preset. The preset should autoload this way SO NO NEED TO LOAD IT FROM THE POSTFX MENU The tonemapping is more aggressive than AL15; ive allowed it to get darker basicly. For those that doesnt know what tonemapping means: "Tone mapping is a technique used in image processing and computer graphics to map one set of colors to another to approximate the appearance of high-dynamic-range images in a medium that has a more limited dynamic range." What i do is i use different tonemapping code than vanilla. That, IMO, delivers a more crisp image of BeamNG, which i think is still a bit dull. I use a 1080p monitor, if you dont then your image will be less colorful than mine, although more colorfull than vanilla. Install it by drag and drop the folders from the zip, into your C:\Users\YOURUSERNAME\AppData\Local\BeamNG.drive\0.24 It should want to overwrite the default.postfxpreset file. Then delete your C:\Users\YOURUSERNAME\AppData\Local\BeamNG.drive\0.24\Temp folder Or install it watching this vid BUT SKIP THE PART AFTER 7:48 SINCE IT SHOULDNT BE NEEDED: AL16 looks like this:
Would I be able to uninstall the postfx setting ifI want to go back to vanilla? If so, how? I saw the word “overwrite” and I got kind of nervous.
Yes, if you delete the postfx file in the Settings folder, the game will regenerate the vanilla one on your next go --- Post updated --- Me neither, if its more colorful then yes, otherwise no The result is very dependant on your monitor too, i tested one of my old version on a old pre-HD monitor, alot less noticable. Its not a Reshade-all-shaders-on-max kind of deal though. I could try and do some comparison shots. My AL just takes away what i feel is a greyish layer on everyrhing, making the colors sharper and slightly changes how bright/dark colors get at any given point
AL17 released! It consists of the usual tonemapping changes and postfx preset. The preset should autoload this way SO NO NEED TO LOAD IT FROM THE POSTFX MENU The tonemapping is even more aggressive than AL16; more color, more brightness, darker shadows and so on. Ive been nagging about graphics for ages it feels like but obviously the devs are working hard on it, aswell ass every other part of BeamNG. Ive been bummed out about the PostFx settings being less and less functioning but assumed its a sign of good things coming. Apparently they have Autoexposure, Blue shift and Bloom working, albeit its only accessible through the world editor and it resets when BeamNG is restarted. IMO this is some really good things, ive wanted a good Autoexposure for a long long time for many reasons. Heres a demo of it. The vid speaks for itself. The screenshots using photo mode are all taken in the same session, i just moved the camera slightly. BTW, ive released the SSAO mod which lets you adjust SSAO in photo mode and it stays ingame until next time you open photo mode. You can find it under the Mods and Skins subforum. Ive also released a FFB mod which lets you increase Side Accel Forces (g-forces on the driver) to ALOT, but i now recommend 80%. Itll help feel what the whole car is doing, when you use a steering wheel. Its in Mods and Skins too i think.
Nvm got it working. Gotta say, I love the mid-day look with the SSAO mod. You never fail to disappoint Dave
