I've recently moved to BeamNG and having a load of fun in it. One challenge I have set myself is learning how to drift in Beam as it seems to be widely regarded as the hardest sim to drift in. In doing so I'm trying to find a camera setup that works best for me. I use NeckFX in AC and it works great for in cockpit views while drifting. I've got the 'lookahead' mod and it's great for what it does but it works on steering input whereas I want to replicate the 'follow vehicle movement' option for the orbit camera in the drivers seat as that would almost mimic my AC setup perfectly. So how would I go about doing this as I can't seem to find the required code modules to put together for this to work. BeamNG already has the function I just want to add it to one of the other cameras. I thought about seeing if I could find the cod in the orbit camera and use it to 'pretend' to be steering input for lookahead... Thanks in advance for any ideas etc on how to achieve this...
Been doing some digging and it seems that camera modding is not new Does anyone know if this thread https://www.beamng.com/threads/tutorial-how-to-write-camera-mode-mods.29108/ is still valid for camera modding?
I am pretty sure there is a mod for that https://www.beamng.com/threads/lookahead-interior-camera.43578/ right here it is. Dunno if it doesn't work but --- Post updated --- .disregard that. i didnt know you used lookahead
