Has anyone experienced any benefits from upgrading to 32GB of RAM? I'm getting some stuttering after spawning 10 AI cars (some of them are mods) in a big map. I noticed that I was almost running out of RAM. I cleaned everything else from the background and it was noticeably better but there was still some stuttering and BeamNG also warned about running out of RAM. I attached a file which shows the RAM usage when I have backroung apps running. I've also noticed very high RAM usage in other games too and now I have to do some 3D modeling and run virtual machines in a school course so I placed an order for a cheap 2 x 16GB 3200Mhz CL16 Dual Rank kit. I hope it also fixes my stuttering in BeamNG and Dual Rank should give me some performance boost in some games at least. Current PC specs: Intel Core i7-11700F (8C16T) 16GB DDR4 3200Mhz CL16 Nvidia RTX 3060 Ti 8GB @2070Mhz 2 x 1TB NVME Playing on a 1440p 165Hz monitor
In my experience going from 16GB to 32GB made a pretty good impact on this game. Since Beamng uses a lot of memory, it wouldn't hurt if you upgraded to 32GB. With twice the amount of memory you can run this game and do other stuff like Steam and web browsers alike without worrying that you will run out of memory. BTW, I had not seen such a high memory usage before in Beamng. How many mods did you install?
I just had couple car mods and one bus mod in the Italy map. High RAM usage seems pretty common in this game. I have the 32GB kit in my PC now and BeamNG runs much better! I can spawn more cars and there's noticeably less stutters in the game. I've also gone past 16GB limit in other games too so 32GB kit was a nice upgrade. Also, Dual Rank seems to give me more performance. For example, Time Spy CPU score went from 11900 to 12400.
