I still stand by the fact that it needs a revamp, at least a half-revamp like the Covet got. It still has quite a few issues:
    • Weak front subframe
    • Launch control weirdness
    • Not many unique configs
    • Not too many parts to select
    • Lack of proper race version, despite definitely having the performance in the best engine parts to have one
    • Biggest turbo overheats too quickly
    • Seats are unrealistically positioned making it impossible to drive the car comfortably
    • There are interesting skins that aren't used on any configs but should be imo
    • No front aero options
    • Not enough spoilers/wings to select
    • No custom body kits (it could use one)

    Also:

    • No rear fog lamps in the taillights (as SKB said)
    • No Euro-spec (yellow coloured) turn signals in the taillights
    • The body needs a slight reproportioning to be done to the C-Pillar and the rear end (the relationship between these two parts is awkward and it seems that the rear end is a bit too tall compared to the low-slung front end - also, the rear wheels seem unnaturally mounted to their wheel wells, not to mention that, when you look at the car at a 3/4 angle from the front, the rear bumper isn't visible at all)
    • No engines larger than the 3.0 I6s
    • The exhaust systems have the same two holes in the final silencers for both the single- and the twin-tailpipe setups and this just looks ugly
    • The door handles are of the old-school "hand under" variety instead of the current "handle in the middle and hand around it" style and that's just not right for a 2015 car
    • After the 0.23 PBR Update, the triangular area on the left/driver side of the center screen should be filled with the textures of the silver cosmetic part running the full length of the center console and not just be the colour of the dashboard
    • Also after the 0.23 PBR Update, the right center air vent is left without its silver outline
    • The Auto gear shifter doesn't go to the Manual position (M+/-) and doesn't move every time a gear is changed manually but it stays in the "S" position (a problem also found in the 800-Series)
    • The gauge cluster is incomplete (no digital readouts for gear, time, external temperature, speed, fuel consumption and, also, no Diesel gauges)

Yeah, the gauge cluster not having the digital readout confuses me. Like, a less expensive, wagon, comfortable car has them, but a sport coupe doesn't? Strange.

Also, the rear taillights already have fog lamps textured and everything, just needs glowmaps and a light flare i guess.. to make it work.

+1 to all points, this car needs the love it deserves. Also I think because of AWD there should be a rally config. It already has rally coilovers and springs, but no tires. The 18x8 tarmac rally tires are ok-ish but not enough. Rally config could also use the adjustable spoiler that's already there

Oh, and this car needs a supercharger!

I just hope when it comes time to revamp them they do K series and 800 series at the same time so they are very closely matched quality wise. Currently interior of K series is noticably worse than 800 series for example, but on both cars it needs major structure rework (seats are too far down, steering wheel is too far up).
edit: exteriors are fine though, maybe only need small cleanups

I agree, the modern ETKs are very closely related and matched, sharing many parts (engines, transmissions, suspensions, brakes, strut braces, seats, electronics, wheels/tires). The steering wheel of the K-Series would also fit the ttSport versions of both cars and it would also fit some V8 versions, whenever they come.

To me they are 2 body shapes that share 1 platform so engine, transmission and suspension should be the same on both. ETK 800 seems to be based on BMW 3 Series F30 which has straight 6 cylinder engine as it's largest option, so im not sure about V8, would make more sense if it was based on BMW E90 generation. The engine/transmission choices they have currently are enough in my opinion. V8 has to be reserved for bigger model like if they decide to release ETK 900 series which can be based on BMW 5 series F10 or ETK 1000 series based on BMW 7 Series F01

I believe a V8 would fit the 800/K perfectly since their engine bays are already large enough for fitting the 3.0 Inline-6s, so a 4.0 V8, consisting of two 2.0 Inline-4 blocks joined together, can fit as well!
This V8 can also power an ETK F-Segment Luxury Sedan as well as an ETK SUV, but I don't see why it can't also power the smaller and lighter modern ETKs!

I didn't say it won't fit, i said it will make more sense in a vehicle that is based on 5series or 7series BMW, not one that is based on 3series of this generation

There's also the C63 from that era and the ttSport Kc5 wheels are reminiscent of the classic AMG 5-spoke design. Each BeamNG car doesn't take inspiration from one car only! ;-)

ETK 800 is clearly based on BMW 3 series and BMW 3 series from that generation doesn't have option for 8 cylinder engine
Here is a proof by gabester in the official ETK 800 thread that it is quote "The ETK 800 Series is a modern German compact executive car."
    compact meaning it's 3 series
And in following post he states that:
    saas.png
which means it is based on BMW

First off, that comment was just to show that his suspension design is not unrealistic. One of the three IRL counterparts has struts therefore it's fair for our fictional one to have struts. Kinda like how 2/3 of the IRL German compact executive luxury cars from this time were V8 powered... Audi B8 A4 had a 4.2 V8 and Mercedes W205 had a 4.0 V8.

But let's just take Gabe's comment out of context and say that he did intend on this being a straight up F31 copy. Gabe was vehicle lead back in 2016. A lot can change in 5 years. Now that Gabe is just a supervisor AFAIK that decision would probably be up to someone like Ferretank.

That being said, even if Gabe explicitly said it was "based" on the 3-Series (which he didn't), pretty much everything other than the SBR is based on but not a direct copy of an IRL car. To quote Nadeox, "this is a fictional car, with a fictional design, fictional brand and fictional logo".

It's strange to add new engine to a car that has been released for so much time now and i don't think it ever happened with any vehicle rework to this date (correct me if im wrong).
Every car in beamNG goes from idea - concept - making a final version - release.
Somewhere around concept stage they already know what the final product should be so it doesn't make sense for the to just add V8 now.

    • Gavril 6.0
    • Gavril 6.9
    • Gavril 4.5/5.5/6.9 swap for the Hopper
    • I think it's fair to include the Soliad V8 here as well as Gabe only ever mentioned it having LeGran engines but it was released with a V8
    • Gabe suggested said the K-Series is unfinished and will get a bigger engine in the OP of this thread. Combined with how popular of a request it is and how badly we need a modern performance car other than the SBR and I think it's fair that so many people are expecting it
Also, we've only seen remasters of a handful of cars. While the Pessima and LeGran really should have got diesel options in their remasters, they really don't need anything else and passenger car diesels are largely ignored in game outside of modern Euro for whatever reason. The Bolide and Pigeon didn't need anything else and the Gavril 1990's lineup got the 423. That covers all the remasters so far. Looking forward it's safe to say the Moonhawk will get more engines as 2 engine options is absolutely absurd in that one. Ferretank did go on record saying he would have put a boxer in the Sunburst if he was lead when that was made, and with the remaster of that coming up it's an interesting situation to keep an eye on.

Also, adding content in a content update shouldn't be controversial... That's kinda the whole point of a content update...

Feels more like the E90 Generation of the 3 series to me, and well, the e92 m3 had a V8..

Anyway, we have the 4.4l V8 mod, so use that lmao

    You're right but:

    1) Back in 2015, when the K-Series was launched, no car had such door handles (not even the 911 991) except....
    2) some really cheap cars, like those Mitsubishis and Suzukis you mentioned! And the reason for that is their own cheapness and cost cuttings for them to be cheap to buy!
    3) A door handle like that makes sense nowadays because it's electronically actuated to stick out/flush in so it gets over (or maybe not) the freezing problem of such handles in low temperatures. It's kinda like looking back to old technologies (rear drum brakes on some electric cars and the BOF design of the BMW i3 Life-Drive platform architecture).
    4) In 2015 some cars already used flush door handles but none of them were the classic "hand-under" variety but modernized (Aston Martin V8 Vantage/DB9, Lamborghini Huracan and Jaguar F-Type, the most obvious examples).

    Sorry for the bump!
I really like the K-series, is there a chance that there could be diesel gauges because having an inaccurate tachometer for a factory diesel kind of throws me off a bit
