Considering the games lack of V10 and V12 engines, I think this could get both. It could potentially have 2 sub-cars on the chassis, like the cherrier FCV. That isn’t completely realistic but it gives more possibilities. I do think a Dubai police config makes sense, despite the lack of a Dubai map. As for other configs, a GT3 race config and a liberty walk inspired body kit on the street tuned. There could be an UGR twin turbo variant for the drag, as well as a manual swapped variant.

Since it's been confirmed we shouldn't expect a hybrid, I think the next most likely is a TT V8. But I still hope for a V12 instead. There's always going to be more options for TT V8s and V10s but bar a few luxury vehicles/grand tourers and a vintage Civetta halo car we may not get another chance for a V12.

V12s were semi-common on prewar american luxobarges. Not using hybrid is a big missed opportunity.

I can't disagree, all your points are right tbh.

Apart from these niches you all mentioned (pre-war American luxobarges, modern high-end Euro Luxury Sedans and GTs) there's also the weird niche of the Diesel V12 (ideally Twin-Turbocharged) fitted to a large SUV and, also, the Diesel V12 for semi use! Such V12s would be really interesting to see in BeamNG. A Gavril TCV12 made out of two TCX 10.6l (= 21.2l) Inline-6 engines maybe? And an oversized 7.5l ETK V12 for the luxury barges, whether being SUVs or not?
The Diesel V12 for the large SUV could also be accompanied by a gasoline V12 version, for making the ultimate V12 duo of SUVs!

There's also the racing sector, in which the small and high-revving V12s own a special place in the hearts of countless race fans, especially in F1, as do the large, race-tuned, road-going V12s in LeMans (especially during the Group C era)!

Here are some even more special sectors: army, aviation and marine! Some armored tank vehicles feature turbocharged V12s, some fighter planes also had V12s and some ultra-luxury yachts are also powered by V12s! BeamNG can support both air and water buoyancy physics, so these would be some great introductions in BeamNG! Also, imagine squashing a T-Series with a tank at full speed!

I wouldn't say it's a missed opportunity, it's just that the Dev Team doesn't have the appropriate technical resources to simulate and develop a Hybrid powertrain right now, whether it is a Mild-Hybrid, a Full-Hybrid or a Plug-In Hybrid powertrain. That's what I understood.

How about the V12 comprised of two engines straight out of an early 2000s Ford Taurus?

The new car likely is much more modern. V12 fell out of favour in mainstream cars because the cost and complexity cant be justified in comparsion to performance orientend smaller engines.

Hybrid certainly would be cool but as the devs have said, they are not looking into it anytime soon as the effort required is hard to justify in comparsion to the benefits. Seing that pure electric drivetrains are not finished either, a hybrid would only be half finished at the moment.

Finally, with Arcanox great Hybrid mods, it is a going to be challenging to create an even more detailed hybrid system by the devs themselves so one can understand their hesitation.

Finally, the grand time of hybrid in cars is coming to an end. With EV getting better every year, it is increasingly hard to justify carrying all that maintainance heavy ICE stuff arround in addition.

the fact that that engine was just used in a bunch of aston supercars makes that engine a bit lamer

I agree. And lame should also be the adjective to describe the VW W12, which consists of two VR6s joined together and the W16, consisting of two Audi V8s (or two VW W8s, I don't know).

    So yeah we need more unique types of engines (V3, VR6, W8, W12, V10, V12, W16, V17)

If it will has the engine more than 8 cylinders, it could be a cool swap for someone who is insane.

My point is that we don't see V3s and V17s either. I mean, where could such engines be used?
Sorry for being ironic, I just wanted to drive this point home! ;)

edit: Just checked more closely that you meant "V16" instead of "V17"! Strike my V17 point out! ;):p
