Sorry but I don't understand what you mean. Yes, the car is still not as realistic in terms of crashing, but this model, before modified, dosen't even have an inner fender. It was later added and modeled by JorgePinto just to cover out the see-through panel. The real crumple zone of a car is more complex than the model right now but this is the best result I can get. I understand that the car is stronger if it has a proper crumple zone but the crash photos you saw was followed by the format of I.I.H.S.'s small-overlap frontal impact crash test at 40 mph, if you see videos of that kinda of crash many cars crumples worse and their a-pillar bends
The continuous-time and dedication put into this mod have not gone unnoticed - this is a high-quality mod. Great work!
Mainly thanks to JorgePinto, without his work these dedications will not exist. I based the car's deformation precisely from crash tests to ensure the best realistic crashes (see photo below, credits to IIHS). (The car crumples until the passenger cell, protecting the passengers by absorbing energy from the engine bay area)
Thank you for those words, I'm really proud of what the mod has become and of course all the help of many people who made possible for what it is now And of course, to keep on that premise, a new update is in! Nothing fancy (no extra parts I mean), but fixes some pesky issues: All bodies now have stronger passenger cells and deform more realistically (thanks to @dumpling) Fixed some RHD and LHD parts being incorrectly swapped between each other Added a new back trim for the Hard Top so it has the same color as the roof, not the rest of the car trim Separated the hood trim so it's now black as standard and the paintable version is now optional Extended the underbody all the way into the edge of the fenders, so when the undertray is removed, a gaping hole between the body and the underbody is no longer present Fixed some mapping errors
Well...new update is in I swear I only do them when there are meaningful changes, and this is no exception: Deep changes on how the interior and front bumper works and look: In the interior, the roof lining is now a separate part and is available in Dark Alcantara as standard, or Clear Alcantara as option (with Panoramic Roof and normal roof available for both colors too) There is a specific RHD Hard Top interior carpet, so any interior combo is possible The middle seat is now optional in all bodies (I suggest taking out the regular console first, since they share the same space) The interior carpet, along with the roof lining are now in the interior jbeam instead of the body jbeam, in which they were added as a flexbody instead of having their own specific coding The low section of the front bumper (the underguard) is now separated from the main bumper, keeping all the existing combos but reducing the amount of meshes neccesary The Front Expedition Protection System has been redone from scratch, since the previous version was not as similiar as the real part as it should The main part of the bumper has also been retoched to fix some reflection issues on the sides (next to the foglights) The bar in the grill area is now separate as well, and several color choices are available (Silver, V8 Satin Grey and Black) Added an optional plastic rear tailgate handle (Body-Colored as standard)
Just a few updates ago I thought how would this mod improve and have even more features, now what? It's not dev-quality yet but if this keeps going on it's going to one day.
Also, the good thing about the rate of updates the mod is having is they will never be as up to day as the official version here. (Funny how is listed as a P400 HSE when there are lots of variants now)
uhhh, quick question, does anyone here have a connection with @Meo_3000_QC on discord or any social because i need to ask permission but he hasnt been online since the 3rd of January.
Why are you asking that here? Anyways I think you can find him on the 2Fast discord, but I doubt he'd respond to you.
Ok so, after a long time trying out i finally made realistic headlights for this thing. It looks this: the only problem is that the spotlight point are a bit off. But idk how to fix this yet. If @JorgePinto is fine with me uploading the edited files i will do it. The basic files i got from this mod: https://www.beamng.com/threads/head...d-projector-v0-23-2.67008/page-7#post-1414656 I just adjusted them to fit the defender.
