Honestly, the only body styles for the Covet I can realistically see coming are a 5-door mini MPV variant and maybe a 4-door sedan. A 5-door hatchback would be too close to both the current 3-door hatchback and the possible 5-door mini MPV, and a 3-door liftback just wouldn't be feasible to add in terms of development time worth spending on.

As a CR-Z owner, I really want to see a CRX lookalike, but I think my love for the car is muddying my logic as to what can be done in a timely manner.

I see your point as to there not being a 5-door hatch, but I think e devs and their love of quirky cars would feel obligated to put a CRX clone in. It’d be a unique addition, and would be something well suited for beam.

Out of all, i would certainly expect a sedan, it really shows it's absense in the game as out of all 80-90s cars we do not have single subcompact sedan
Crx really is a wishful thinking though, i wish we could have one, they are such cool cars

out of all the cars we also don't have a compact coupe, or a liftback coupe at all.

the other thing to consider here is what other possible cars could also fill these proposed niches.
some compact european van like a renault kangoo/fiat panda/opel combo could reasonably fill all the areas that this supposed covet shuttle would, while not stepping on the toes of the legran wagon.

for this reason, i'd say the CRX body style is most likely.

The LeGran Wagon is too large (Midsize, ~4.8m in length) to be threatened by even the largest proposed Covet, which is the 'Vista'. Plus, the LeGran isn't a Minivan but rather a more traditional-styled Sedan vehicle, although the Wagon variant could certainly have a rear-facing jump seat in its trunk.
So I definitely see some MPV-like bodystyles coming along with the CR-X-like one and the Sedan one. What I believe may seem over the top, but it's actually pretty realistic when we see what the IRL base of inspiration offered back in 1987.

I just realized that there's a certain horn that's been missing from the game up until now: the classic trumpet horn, being perfectly fitting to Italian cars! ;)

it still comes into the "80s utilitarian 'wagon'(in the broader sense of the term) with a FWD-turned-4WD drivetrain" category, and not one car has had more than two distinct bodystyles yet.
don't get me wrong, it's a cool idea, and it would suit the covet quite well, but I don't

Also, as far as the 4WD is concerned, probably the most well known FWD-only performance car is a civic, so it makes sense from a driving dynamics point to keep the covet FWD. If the gen 5 Pessima was kept FWD, that leads me to believe the same thought process is happening with the covet.
and once again, returning to the game balance issue that saw the Wendover get an exclusive V8, if the covet GTz can get the 2.0 turbo engine, and the viscotronic AWD system, then why would anyone want a gen 3 Pessima, when it's basically the same car with more weight?

Why would anyone want a K-Series, which is basically an 800 series with more weight?

Flip it around and you’d be correct, the k series is the coupe.

Different priorities. The Covet is small, light and agile while the Pessima can fit a whole family of 5 and transport them with more comfort and it's also bought by those who don't want or need Minivans. Plus the gen 3 Pessima is at least 10 years newer than the Covet.
The way you said this, it doesn't make any sense because each car has its own purpose and market place and the other comments answering to you reflect exactly that.

It's modern and has a chance for a unique engine, and probably will be faster too

    I see reasons of:
    • historic continuity (lineage, to put simply)
    • watching how technology has made Civetta supercars (and the Civetta brand in general) evolve over the years
    • expansion of the Civetta list of models and offerings. ;)
Weight has nothing to do with this, it's just a side effect of some of the technologies (mainly on electronics and active/passive-structural safety) equipping every succeeding generation of vehicles. Although, for flipping my own argument, there's a chance that the new Civetta model won't be dramatically heavier than the Bolide anyways.

Official Covet 4WD?! Sign me the F up!

Not that it will ever happen though, IMHO it doesn't make sense for a car like it to have AWD. Of course the Beam Team can disagree and add it in though. (which would make my 4WD CVT mod rather obsolete lol)

EDIT: then again the devs did add the Pessima Mk1's 2.0 engine to the Covet a few years ago so anything is possible.
